I see a UK trainer had recently got in trouble for comments made in the media

TRAINER Jason Ward faces investigation by the BHA after making comments on At The Races deemed to be racially offensive.

After Monte Cinq made all in the opening 5f maiden at Wolverhampton, Ward was interviewed on the channel and used a racial stereotype while discussing the horse.

After the initial consternation on social media had died down, the BHA's media manager Robin Mounsey said: "We are aware of the incident and will be taking the appropriate steps in relation to this matter.

"There is no place in British racing for racially offensive language and we are taking this matter very seriously."

Monte Cinq was Middleham trainer Ward's first winner since September. The 10-1 chance was getting off the mark at the eighth attempt, having been second at Newcastle a fortnight ago.
