Playing around these selections today :-
R2, Blackmore, think he is bumping the right kind of field.
R4, William The Brave, should go very close to winning.
R6, William Longsword, must be in worth a shout if not running flat.

Agreed, those big race days are always tough, especially early in the season. Every horse is a trier, whether fit or not, because of the prize money on offer.

Lloyd's Legacy in the last, P6 banker, unfortunately the 28/10 went yesterday afternoon, now about 12/10.

GLEN KOTZEN:
Race 1 – COUNTING STARS (7): Will need this run and the experience. He is a good looking son of Var!
GLEN PULLER:
Race 8 – FIRE WALKER (8 ): Is a nice horse but being his first run he will need the experience. I am hoping for a competitive effort.
DAN KATZ FOR DARRYL HODGSON:
Race 8 – LIQUID DYNAMITE (10): A very nice horse but faces a strong field – should need the run.
BRETT CRAWFORD:
Race 8 – MASTER KERR (13): Will need the run.
Race 8 – NASTY HARRY (16): Will need the run.
JONO SNAITH FOR JUSTIN SNAITH:
Race 8 – MILDEN SPELL (15): Will take a run or two before we see the best of him.
SHANE HUMBY:
Race 8 – RETURN FIRE (17): and Race 8 – WAYWOOD (20): Unable to contact the trainer for comment.
PIET STEYN:
Race 8 – WAITINGFORTONIGHT (19): A nice horse but should need first run.

In the 4th, William the Brave is a deserved favourite after a cracking run lto returning from a break ad upped in distance. Im however taking it on with Sea Pass. Reasons why- WtB is having its 2nd run after a rest, will it be a flat one? Sea Pass was backed into 10/1 from 40/1 1st time over 2000. Had a good run after having problems at the start. Second time over 2000 was closing fast and finished a close second. Both its runs over further it has been the fastest finisher and looks like the extra 400 will be right up its alley. 33/10 is a fair price imo and my pa/bipot banker.

Would have been confident if the stable jock was on but the way jocks are been booked for rides in the Cape?

Honestly think the Kannemeyer yard would be more successful in the Cape if he tried using a different jockey.
