Same old story

You go to bed on a Friday night really looking forward to the morning as there is cricket on the TV, not just the one Test but two. Your last thought before you fall asleep is i am going to get up at 3am to watch. At 730 the dog wakes you up wanting to go out.

You watch some cricket then start looking forward to the racing believing that today is the day that you rise to the top, like cream in a bottle of milk. After 4 races you know that that is not going to be the case, yet again. So you start looking forward to the football which kicks off at lunch time. Your first football bet goes up in smoke because the underdog scores first. Never mind the rugby can get you back in the mood to watch. Then you realise that they only kick off after 5 so you get back to the racing. Still your hopes remain shattered. You back one winner and the feeling returns. 3 races later your are back to square one. The day ends and you have lost on the horses, the cricket did not inspire you to pick up a bat, well in magis case maybe, the rugby was a let down and your football bets went up in smoke in the first match. Oh well there is always next Saturday to look forward too.

I have often been accused of not getting into the spirit of these big days, but so many horses are prepared(or saved) for the big days and form punters need to keep their heads down,or get beaten.
As I posted last night ...punters needed to stick to Kenilworth if they wanted a fair chance!
