I was on course the day Cats Whiskers last ran. Looking at the head on I was convinced she would have won had she not found trouble. Not sure about the quality of the field she is up against tomorrow so just a small tickle.

Hi Guys,
Gee Flamingo is just crazy they should scrap racing there you might as well take a lotto.
Better racing at the Vaal:
Best Bets
Race 3: Rose Water(2) 4-1 (Has beaten the favourite, due for a win)
Race 4: Cat's Whiskers 4-1 (Baulked for a clear run last run, Big Runner!!!!!)
Race 5: Danza(3) 18-10 (Class horse here, been knocking at the door should win)
Value Bets
Race 6: Sabre Dance(6) 9-1 (Ran in stronger company last MR96, dropping too MR71??)
Race 7: Isphan(2) 9-2 (Good last run when nearly made all, beaten most of these)
Roughie
Race 8: Lord Windsor(4) 12-1 (bookies are backing it, is 2nd run after rest which was a good run behind BOLD REX but i think at this price(was 16-1) we can't get hurt)
P6
2,3,6,7,8,14 x 3,4,6 x 3 x 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,12 x 2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10 x 1,2,4,6,7,8,10,12,13,15 (10%) R1296
PA
2,9 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 4,6 x 2 x 1,4,7,10 (x20) R320
JP
3,4,6 x 3 x 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,12 x 2,4,5,6,10 (x2) R270
Good Racing

Sure looks that way - banker in the PA and definite inclusion in BP, JP & PS though
For me I think Sabre Dance is nice value, don't think even the draw could stop Queen Laurie while Talbec no value at those odds

R4 Beautiful Shay is back down to a more suitable trip though is yet to win over this d in 8 attempts, something of a concern. Nevertheless, she has been running to slightly stronger and, for the most part, has been competitive in the last few months and for me, the form suggests she has a fair chance from a fair draw. Blinkers are on and Zackey up should be a bonus.
Much made about Cat's Whiskers lto and could win but in that same race Victor's Castle was drawn 1 and was a mile back early on before running past all but one. Perhaps she is not the most consistent but the Erasmus horses do seem to be running a little better of late. Unfortunately VC has again been luckless with the draw, 17, but at the prices worth a try and wouldn't leave out of anything.
R6 Forgiving lto at Turfs, which I am not sure he particularly likes anyway, on soft going, I think Gold Status has a chance at a price in this. Has not been getting the best of starts but has been running on when, at minimum, competitive in 3 prior runs over 1200 at the Vaal. Might enjoy being stepped up in trip again, he has 5 top 3s in 9 starts over 1400. Has a fair draw and has finished in the top 3 in 8 of 13 Vaal starts and 3/5 over c/d.
The other I will throw in is Let's Go West. Poorly drawn but so are some of the more fancied ones. Ultra consistent in KZN and a good local debut before disappointing lto on 2nd run after a break. Strictly on runs to Sleepinseattle, Yankee Captain has 0.8l for 1kg worse off with LGW. When racing against LGW, Sleepinseattle had the prized 1 box compared to LGW who went from the not so good 10 box and off a 14 week break. The blinkers are removed and Strydom has been booked.
R7 Magic is on 2nd run after a rest but has consistently put up competitive, if not the quickest, times over this c/d and if not suffering from the 2nd after a break syndrome should be right there imo. Not the best draw but not the worst and I think a decent price.
The Thinker made a really nice winning debut before being fairly well beaten over 1200. In that debut win though he made up a good 6 lengths or so in the final 400 and won going away despite having to avoid potential interference. The 3rd, also on debut, won nto and was then only beaten 4.4l in an MR96 when drawn 10/11 on the Turf inside course (1450). Lto TT was drawn 16 on a day low draws were favourable and the jockey also reported that he did not feel the horse was striding out freely in running, though the doc could see nothing amiss. I think back to 1000 from a better draw of 6 and with the winning jock from the maiden back in the saddle TT has a chance despite the 10 week break.
All are competitive races (and I am sparing you going through all the "dangers" lol) and they might all get well beaten but I think they all have chances at double figure prices so chancing singles, doubles and e/w trebles dutching...
R4 Beautiful Shay / Victor's Castle
R6 Dold Status / Let's Go West
R7 Magic / The Thinker
Be(s)t of luck to all
