The more i watch the green point the more i believe that legal eagle is the best this country have seen in many years.

Yes , marinarisco did also play with this field BUT in the last 400m he could only gain a lengh on Legal Eagle . Legal eagle clearly showed he needed the run and next start will only improve more and more....
Tacticly they ran legal eagle a bit colder than normal and if ever marinarisco wanted to beat him, this was the race but he clearly not in same league as the champion.
Marinarisco was flat to the boards last 400m and had every chance.
Interesting is that in the final 400m Legal Eagle had 6 less strides than marinaresco....

Legal eagle if sound and well will smash anything in the queen plate and Met.

I love Legal Eagle....and when he saw Marinaresco coming he just gave another kick.....but i saw it a little differently than Ziets....i reckon the 2000m will be a different story. So my summation will be Legal Eagle for the Queens Plate and Marinaresco for the Met......

Love the fact that we all have different views andopinions of tthe race.

My take - LE was not on full throttle. (This is what I saw based on the jocks actions)

If that is the only opposition for LE then LE is my banker for both. . QP & Met.

I thought Grant had him to far back. Superman on the other hand, great. All makes for a fantastic season.

Also felt going around the bend Marinaresco got a little too far behind the first group of horses, then was rushed along to catch up, which would in my opinion, explain why he had nothing left in the fight to the line.

My view going forward, Legal Eagle will win the QP, however Marineresco will prevail in the Met.

I don't think there was much between Legal Eagle and Marinaresco turning in ? Length or so ?

Marinaresco always had to chase the front bunch. After about 200m he was already some 4 lengths behind Legal Eagle, my point being, in the straight proper, i think he had used up more energy just getting close on the back straight and around the turn, so it would be almost inevitable he'd have little to come at the business end.

Having watched the replay again, i'd venture to say in both the QP and Met, if Marinaresco enters the straight two lengths or less behind Legal Eagle, there will only be one winner ......

No race in the Met. Only one winner. Nothing can beat Marinaresco over 1800m +

Queen's Plate is very tight as LE is the champ over a mile and could remain so. All depends on GvN's positioning of Marinaresco.

Legal Eagle has beaten the best continually for seasons

He toyed with the Bass horse on Saturday

Marinaresco has a lot to prove yet in my books
