RA foots the bill
8 years 4 months ago
Larry Wainstein CEO of RA:
The RA who governs all stake money paid to owners.
That excludes the ready to run where its funded by the breeders.
Sun Met from R2.5 to R5M and Queens Plate
It was the RA that had to find the increased stake money.
This should set the record straight where RA members who feel the RA dont do enough for them.

The Racing Association should be for the smaller owners to have more say/clout and for the bigger owners racing managers to voice their concerns over programming and other issues.
Only the elite owners made up the Met Field. That increase could have played a vital role in increasing the bread and butter races.
Met Owners,
Jooste,
Adams,
Shirtliff and Co,
Crabbia,
Van Niekerk,
Kieswetter,
Drakenstein Hattingh and Co,
Khaya Stables,
Field Spring Racing,
JF Werners,
De Broglio
Are they in for the money or love of the sport....
As Kieswetter said, it was even better feeling than International Cricket when winning.

I don't really understand your point Dave .
Anyway an interesting article in SP - Lets rather buy Birds
Another million Dollar Race for SA This one’s for the birds.
Racing pigeons! emerald resort & casino hosts the 21st Million Dollar Pigeon race this weekend, with prize money close to $2 million.
Over the years, more than 1500 international fanciers from 35 different countries have taken part. entrants from all walks of life pit their pigeons against each other – they include advocates, farmers, doctors, CeO’s and many noble houses from the Middle east. Queen elizabeth is entering on behalf of charity organisations both locally and in the united Kingdom.
Saturday 4 february is race day, when pigeon fanciers from all over the world converge to watch the action at the lofts. The next day sees the auction of the top 50 pigeons - last year’s winning pigeon sold for $100.000 on www. iPigeon.com. horse breeders are mostly foreign to the intricacies of breeding racing pigeons. among the entrants for the Million dollar contest will be birds with sires and dams bred on close crosses – father to daughter, son to mother, cousin to cousin… all extreme athletes who can fly like the wind. hillbilly Rules! - Love that
More information regarding the race can be found at https:// www.samdpr.com/ . Samples of big bird pedigrees, for interest and education, are here www.galaxyloft.com/pedigrees.html Pigeon race in South Africa with $2 million prize money
