Some of the KZN yards should call it a day. In any other line of business their services would have been terminated ages ago.

It's a real pity that most of the Durban trainers do not even try a little travel. They might be pleasantly surprised if they made a trip to Cape Town during the season for the following reasons :
1.) Most trainers will tell you that their horses flourish as a result of the Cape environment.
2.) Most horses benefit from a temporary change of scenery
3.) Many of the lesser Cape races are very poorly filled so an 'accident of nomination' might produce unexpected & pleasant results.
4.) The horses would get 100% grass exposure on decent tracks & probably benefit from it.
5.) The trainers who travelled would possibly have the opportunity to work only with their best horses for an uninterrupted, short stint.
6.) They would gain important experience in travelling which might stand them in good stead if and when they were blessed with a good horse
7.) They might even return home with a couple of additional Cape battlers whom the local owners felt might benefit from a move to Durban.

Some of the KZN yards haven't had a single winner. Are those owners expected to pay for their trainer to still have a holiday in the Cape.
