Distance: 1600m
Pre-race comments: He has been knocking on the door, and if he can overcome the draw will have a good winning chance here.

R3) Quippi (22/10), whilst previously beaten by Sabina's Dynasty (9/10) on the 20/12 by 1.85 lengths, that was Quippi first run back from a break, and appears to have tired late. I don't think Sabina's Dynasty is a 9/10 shot from draw 9/12. Quippi, third run after the rest and better drawn, the jockey booking is significant.
R8) Guilty Pleasure (16/1 into 7/1), this horse does have a lot going for her. Receives 3.5kgs from the favourite Silver Willow (5/1 into 3/1), who is also a one time winner and receives 3.0kgs from the two time winners above her in the market. Whilst Guilty Pleasure may not have beaten much when breaking out the maiden ranks, she appears to have a turn of foot, so from a favourable, she may just run them out of it, purely because of the weight she receives.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Race 2: Nothing between Tweak the Wind and Pop the Question last time and both should be in the shake up. Twilight Trip and Perovskia good debuts and with natural improvement could win.
Waitingfortonight and Lauren of Rochelle are capable. A couple of well bred first timers add to the puzzle. Quartet the way to go in this race.
Race 3: We have Xibelani here. Is improving steadily and should be included in trifectas and quartets. Sabina's Dynasty is the one to beat. Quipping and Miss Stake won't be far off.
Race 4: Hernando's Promise is consistent, but Woodland's Forest makes most appeal with 4kg claimer. Dorset Noble is bred for the trip and must be respected. Colonel Bluff to make up the quartet.
Race 5: Plano was fancied on debut and was beaten by a useful sort, but flopped next time. He has been gelded and if fit is the one to beat. There is very little between 1,2,3,4 at best. Leadman should enjoy the step up in trip.
Race 6: We have Shall be Free running here. He is fit and well and is again in with a shout. Free Agent is weighted to turn the tables on him, and Candid is an improving, smart 3yo. You can make a case for just about every runner.

Race 7: Very open race. Loadshedder looks progressive and was not badly treated by the handicapper for his maiden win. Silver Master should enjoy the step up to a mile. Gyre is very consistent and can never be ignored.
Race 8: We have Step Out running. She is better than her last start when not given the best of rides. Has a place chance in a strong race. Silver Willow ran 10lb above her rating last time in a feature race. That was 2000m, but if she can show the same ability back to 1600m, then she will be very hard to beat. She has run very well from wide draws last 4, and from a good draw here, is a possible banker. If she can't do it, then many with chances, and then almost a field leg. Big Bang Theory and Red Granite are improving, and both Ashfahaan and Guilty Pleasure are unexposed. Elusive Touch is well in with the 4kg claim.
Charity race day "horses for causes" so the course will be busier with lots on the go.

I think all of Quippi (Sabrinas Dynasty the danger!) Silver Willow and Gyre will be something good to have a punt today.
All the best PeterD. You comments are always welcomed.

5/2 Hernando's Promise. If any horse deserves a win, it's this guy. Hopefully the step up in trip is the answer.
Also think Candid and Come on Sonny another two with good each way chances on the card.
