There have been many jockey and stable changes in P /E....the jocks who want to ride in Durban on Friday nights dont want to go to P/E very often.

Looked very deliberate to everyone else. Mind you van Niekerk is still stable jockey at the Bass yard.
Bob where does this stack up in comparison to the groom that kicked the horse and Murray's excessive use of the whip ?
How can it be accidental ? Once he hit something other than fresh air it had to be the other horse. So then he has to put the whip away. Everyone remembers him hitting a young apprentice one day at Milnerton in a close finish and losing the race on an objection. In Titch's eyes he is a national hero alongside greats like the late Joost.
Finally doesn't the closing paragraph of the article explain it clearly enough for you???
"However, the limited reaction from FLIPFLASH, the evidence put forward by Jockey G Lerena and Trainer J A Janse van Vuuren and the fact that this incident took place approximately six strides before the finish line, resulted in the Objection Board overruling the objection and allowing the judge’s result to stand"....Capiche??

Mr H imo Lyle is the victim of his own success, one tends to forget that he is still a very young appy, not saying that it makes it right just that he is unfairly being held to a much higher standard and punished accordingly..just my opinion..

They have taken the matter up further. Bob as posted the link above. Courtesy of Sportingpost below.
Andrew Fortune may possibly have dealt any hopes of a second jockey’s title a mortal blow after his antics in the fourth at Turffontein on Saturday.
Nine winners behind Greg Cheyne and seven behind Gavin Lerena with nearly half the season ahead, Fortune has been prepared to tour the country in search of winners this term and his prospects of a second title were promising.
But although a supremely talented horseman, Fortune is never far from controversy, and he was at it again on Saturday. Riding Bay Style for Gary Alexander, Fortune injudiciously waved his whip in the face of third-placed Lerena-ridden Flipflash which had social media in a tizz.
From the couch and watching numerous re-plays, the damage done to Flipflash was marginal if having any effect at all as the only blow landed appeared to be on the sheepskin noseband of Flipflash who never faulted.
National Horseracing AuthorityThe stipendiary stewards immediately called a race review followed by an objection which was not a surprise given the incident – the grounds being intimidation in the closing stages. That it was over ruled was also not a surprise given that the incident happened a few jumps from the line and Flipflash would never have got to Bay Style in any case.
But there is often a fine line between race-riding and winning at all costs.Horse Racing
Racing alone up the inside fence, Fortune deliberately let his mount drift across to join Flipflash and favourite Handsome Henry. A perfectly legitimate move given that a horse generally tends to try just a little harder when racing with company.
What happened next is what got many people’s gander up.
Bay Style was roughly half-a-length clear when joining Flipflash and under a soft left-handed stick. However, Fortune’s flailings changed from down the neck to ‘stirring the porridge’ with Flipflash catching one on the noseband.
Just how this incident is viewed by the authorities will be interesting in its self.

Naresh if the truth be told neither Andrew nor Greg had/have a prayer of winning the title, in fact if Anton and or Richard Fourie don't start to travel and start soon they can then put the number in the frame...

We are talking about the incident here, not the title. I can't comment as I have not seen the head on but it looks like the whip goes moves away from the neck for a couple of strides.

It was confirmed on the Bass website today that Aldo Domeyer will get first choice on all Bass trained horses and in the newspaper I read he will be leaving the Plattner yard. Grant might get the odd lightweight ride and the second pick but I actually have a hunch he might be looking towards the Snaith yard for more opportunities.
As for the jockey championship it's actually a case of nobody wanting it so by default Gavin will win the title in a canter. Pity though it's great for racing when jockeys duel for the crown. Taking nothing away from Gavin, he is a superb rider.

If Gav wanted to he could have made a big issue of it and got the promotion as could Johan J Van Vuuren have....
So what you are in fact insinuating is that you know better than them....why am i not surprised...

Whoever wrote that article really has no idea of what they are talking about,,why would andrew want bay style to hang right across the course costing his mount valuable ground plus he had the whip in the left hand all the time trying to straighten him up...
