Rubyana disappointed last time when below previous form. Blinkers off and Fourie on.

Hot sunny day today, very little wind so far but may pick up a bit later. Course will be running fast.
Race 1: first timers will need to be quite smart to beat Herodus.
Race 2: Dawn Rising has good form but has not run since October, and this might be on the sharp side. Amazingly also drops down in trip- she has fair form but looks limited. Sunstrip gets 4kg claim and should be thereabouts. Lady Dideo include in quartets. Water baby fair debut and should come on from that. Straat- kind does not have to be a star to win and is probably the right one here.
Race 3:Best Nut ever and Mister Colin can be expected to improve on fair debuts and should be respected. Desert Lark came back to 1200m last time but is a bit off his best form. He has the ability to win this if regaining form. Power Shift will be thereabouts. Waitingfortonight is inconsistent but capable at best. My tentative selection is Best Nut Ever, but need a few for the pick 6.
Race 4:Kapteinspandieseile disappointed last time, and Fourie jumps ship to Perfect Choice. PC improved nicely last time, and with further improvement looks the right one. Piracy ran well on debut and should be competitive. Scriptwriter and Rokatenda should go into bigger perms.
Race 5: Second Nature has good form but thevwidest draw to overcome. There is nothing between Rubyana and Aviatrix and they should fight it out.
Race 6: Kampala Campari looks a progressive sort and if enjoying the trip is the one to beat. Very open race if he doesn't win. Mega Secret is well weighted.
Race 7: We have Elusive Singer here. A bit disappointing last time. Fourie has chosen to ride Whitelightwarrior, but with the 4kg claim, ES is decent ew value at 10/1 this morning. Very open race- the three others to beat Viking Voyage, Argo Solo and Bobby Dazzler. BD has the most scope for improvement and is my first choice amongst the opposition.
Race 8: Tricky fillies handicap. Saint Janine my first choice, Wicked Kiss second, but need quite a few in pick 6.

No wind at Kenilworth. Johnny Herodus is very quick. I think it will take a very good one to beat him.
