@ Mojo... surely you can't ask such an open question and follow a response up by asking someone to enter potentially libellous ground!
It is particularly "surprising" when you have offered no personal opinion yourself and thus (obviously) no example or elaboration. Unless you want a summons waived in front of you, I would suggest you make no claim about anything in particular you believe to be not "straight".
Tut tut! lol

i think the system is slipping but the checks are still 90% in place.
my big gripes
inconsistent horses and lack of sanction for those runs.
the wrong horse winning when stable has the favorite.
penalties to light or inconsistent when people are bought to book.

I would say about 50/50
50 down the straight
50 around the turn.....

if you don't think racing is "straight", how can you possibly gamble on it?

If there's opportunity for money to be made in an unethical way , there is absolutely no doubt that it will be done.
Horse racing presents such an opportunity to individuals that's closely involved , to expect these people not to do so because of their good morals or ethics is laughable, ofcourse there will be always be a small minority that do have strong ethical beliefs and will refrain from such activities.
It comes down to a basic human flaw, greed.
The thing that most people will never realise is that money made through such means goes out just as easy as it came in , and will almost never give you the level of "happiness" as money received through honest hard work.
