SPORTS BETTING

Lately I am becoming disheartend punting on the horses, so many choices, so many decisions.
So I decided to take a sports bet, something I really didn't give a go before.

I made a bet here and there but nothing serious, so over the weekend I decided to try sports betting and I took bet for R590, different markets, rugby , volleyball, soccer, tennis in total 20 markets, they all won and I collected R16000. I was actually shocked because on most of the sports I took a bet I really don't know much about the sports, I was just guided by the betting.

During the day I then took a few in play bets.

I played John Higgens twice and in both games (snooker) he was 2:0 down and made a comeback and won both games 3;2, I backed him twice when he was 2: 0 own and got around 3/1 -33/10 each time. I only took small bets as I am just testing the water

I must admit it was quite a thrill to see him make a come back and see how his score grows shot by shot, one game he won by 122;0

I also played the varsity rugby markets and went big on the Shimlas in a ATC in which they are the last leg, it looks like I will be up by R5000 for the day.

So I am thinking by playing small and accumulate my profit ,I would be able to win R3-5000 per day.

I am wondering how many clanners makes a living from sports betting?

I am considering giving up on playing on horses and only focus on sports betting
and also there is no tax on sports bets !!!!!!!

James, I have limited my horse betting drastically and am much more involved in sports betting (albeit im not a massive (stakes wise) punter). I personally feel I have a better "chance" for my money...

Put it down to pure luck. By your own admission you don't have a clue what you doing. I have yet to meet anyone who has a basic understanding of volleyball. Quit while you ahead or you will play up the lot.

Yes I have also played smaller amounts, than I played on horse racing.
I maybe win smaller amounts but win more return. and here are so many markets, no 30 min or more to wait between races
As I said I am still exploring, there are bets I shouldn't av taken but I am sure when I feel more comfortable I will take less bets bets for bigger amounts
I try to play in markets where the result can only be two choices
I focus in taking ATC,s in some markets the odds are so low you can't punt on a single event alone.

James Blond if you believe that you can win between 1.1 and 1.5 million a year on sports betting then I am going to move to SA and become your best friend as I will bet whatever you bet on

A punter plays against about 5% on a three result sports event (win, home, draw).
A punter plays against about 19% (13% plus 6% tax) in a field of about thirteen runners.
Yes, horseracing is one of the most expensive games in town. From a punting point of view it is no wonder horseracing is on the decline. Horseracing should be tax free and sports betting should be taxed.

Both Sports betting and horse racing are just as easy to win and lose at imo

Not sure why you would think you can win at sports betting and not horse racing? Both need the same amount of study imo

If you had half a brain you would be able to get my point ... You cannot randomly back 20 teams because you like the sound of there names and expect to show a profit over a year.

It was not that long ago that James was trying to sell racing tips proclaiming to be the messiah. When that never worked out he started a horse syndication thread. Now it is sports betting. Next week it might be the lotto.
