Pocket Power was 110 last year and carried top weight
Now is 118
Not sure why he carries 1kg less than his MR would indicate

Jay Peg was 103 going into July last year
If he was in here would have had 51

P,

PP is running in the JULY off a 116 (why? Maybe God knows!)

PP 116
RS 107
= 9 = 4.5Kgs

58Kgs - 4.5Kgs = 53.5Kgs - 2Kgs (wfa) = 51.5Kgs

Eddington (111)
58Kgs - 2.5Kgs = 55.5 - 2 = 53.5Kgs

Last year
PP 114
Jay112

58 - 1 = 57 - 2Kgs = 55 (and max weight for 3yo male = 55Kgs)

Jack...I think the rule states that the maximum weight to be carried is 58kg.
The question is why are the next dozen or two carrying more than they should.
And Puffin, as Jack points out the weight for Russian Sage is correct.

I think that at these weights, the 3yr olds make a lot of appeal, especially the 12/1 abt Gallant Gagnant seems good value (as opposed to the 5/1 abt Russian Sage); in general I believe the 3 yr olds have been underrated (Eddington winning the Gomma Gomma and Imbongi the Drill Hall - carrying 56 kg's!), only one to have disappointed was Rudra in the 1900, but there may be some excuses for that run that we are unaware of.

So I say a 3yr old will win this year's July!
