180000 ?????? DIVIDE BY 5 so 35000 staff employed in horseracing directly.

where??

Grooms 2000
TAB 2000
Stud farms 4000

27000 missing.

I suggest they merge the lottery and Horse racing into one entity.

You missed the Farmers for feed , the Spaza shop owners , the Shabeen queens and everyone else that has any contact with anyone on horse racing. :(

How can there only be 2000 grooms?
2.2 to 2.8 grooms per horse in racing equals more than 2000....

TS - How do you get 2.8 grooms per horse . Maybe Divide 5000 horses by two that sounds about right , I have never heard of a trainer that has two grooms per horse . Trainer x has 8O Boxes x 2.8 224 Grooms in his stable .

Grooms look after 2-3 horses each ( and still some are grudged their R750 a week )

Sorry Warren, was rushing, meant horses to grooms..........still works out to more than 2000
