PE 6th
Mambo Tango 18-10 - unplaced - Stipes did nothing
Scent 28-10 - unplaced first time in last 11 starts!! - Stipes did nothing
Point Du Guard - TF - unplaced - Stipes did nothing
Stir It Up - tf - Unplaced - Stipes did nothing

Gauteng 7th
1.In view of the performance from NEGROAMARO (R Simons) (5.75 lengths, betting 13/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested this filly. (to examine - missing from report)

2.In view of the performance from SUMMER WIND (C Maujean) (11.00 lengths, betting 7/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly

3.In view of the performance from RIGHTS OF MAN (J P van der Merwe) (11.00 lengths, betting 9/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.(my assessment is the horse led which was not the way he raced last time which would explain his run but they did ask a question)

4.In view of the performance from SHORTSTOP (M Yeni) (7.00 lengths, betting 3/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.

5.In view of the performance from THE SHREDDER (R Simons) (8.25 lengths, betting 4/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.

I'm not in any way saying that PE racing is rigged but what I am pointing out is that the Gauteng Stipes are doing their jobs.... One performance that for me had to be interrogated is SCENT(I actually was pleased with the result as I had played to beat it) If such a consistent animal ran unplaced then at the very least ask the vet to have a look...

A) Jockey C Murray reported that MESMERIZE had no early pace. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
B) Jockey C Zackey and Jockey R Munger reported that their mounts KISS ME HARDY and MERCADO respectively took no interest in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
C) THUNDERWOOD (T Gould) was hanging inwards over the final 300 metres.
D) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that STRATOCRUISER was changing stride continuously in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
E) The winner NOTTING HILL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer D Sham advised (GT).
F) The second placed horse MASTER JAMES was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer D Sham advised (GT).

There is no mention of him in the reports except a notation of a Jockey change...
Take the time to read the PE reports vs Gauteng and other provinces and draw your own conclusions - You will note that not ALL the horses investigated in Gauteng are Tote Favs so they are expanding their vision to any horse they feel may have run below par when there is no reason for that eg bumped baulked slow etc.

3 stipes on duty - Budget can never be a concern as the Vet is there already and he should be looking over horses post and past race

It seems that if the JOCKEYS report then the vet examines!!!!

Mr.H
Three of those favs that ran bad were ridden by Andrew Fortune. ;)
The other one, trainer had two other runners that were punted at big prices and finished 2nd and 3rd.

See Dave that's my point -- why allow punters to imagine rigging when you can dispel it .. Yesterday I backed Trumpet's Calling - as did many here - Stipes report comes back
Jockey C Zackey reported that TRUMPETS CALLING made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
and
TRUMPETS CALLING – abnormal respiratory noise. (vet report)
So I as the punter move on - no harm no foul .... but if a horse like SCENT who must be one or the most consistent earners having finished in the money 11 times(i think) starting from July last year runs second last at least ask the Vet to check if he has 4 legs and a tail!!!
