if true, then i wonder why he would close down his yard in kzn,i was under the impression that he was a kzn trainer, according to many posters including a certain kzn trainer.

Sad loss for KZN racing. Nice gesture though leaving some horses with Nathan Kotzen who will take out his own Trainers licence.

You cant blame him as our race program for at least 9 months of the year doesnt suit his horses who arent merit rated 59s ,he said a few years ago that polytrack racing is cheap racing and it makes up at least 50 percent of the natal program and throw in the natal turf tracks which are nowhere near the quality of the gauteng tracks and kenilworth...im surprized it took him this long to close it down

....not surprised either.....Mike a good businessman.....consolidation and focus required..... and Pirates and others have highlighted Gold Circle's short comings.... in failing to put on a more attractive racing programme ..... to keep better horses competing in off season racing....wish Natie all the best....sure his old Boss will be sending down some raiders his way.... should the current race programme have the odd opportunities..... ;)

Good decision, coming back home to where it all started for him.

Business decision at the end of the day as he mentioned and raiding from Randjes makes more sense imo.
