And you are entitled to your opinion Naresh as you are entitled to write to those companies and give them your opinion. I however have no appetite to engage with you regarding Charl as I am happy with my opinion.

8 years 2 months ago.....also found this strange, however must be again totally out of context....and could not be referring to the National Lotto.... again a LW slip of the tongue and could be coming out of the mouth all wrong again.....I would surmise that what he may be referring to here.....was the lotto numbers betting that were once part of the Betting World offering.....the National Lotto then legally stopped them from offering bets on "their" product.... :oops:naresh wrote: Mentions 15% comes from the Lotto but no figure is provided to how much like the rest.

Many years ago Clyde Basel took a R2500 per month ad on Formgrids.com to give us some form of support,, Clyde then moved to Phumelela and Larry Wainstein told me that the RA could not afford the R2500 a month ad on Formgrids.com and cancelled the ad,, Formgrids is used by many many RA members daily,, did Larry Wainstein lie to me and if so why ???,, Also Larry was asked by the RA board to do a deal with Formgrids,, we had made several proposals to Larry over the years which he never took further,, then after instruction to do a deal by the board he made a ridiculously low offer to purchase Formgrids, (i presume the figure he came up with was of his own decision as he had not been given an instructed figure by the board) which i rejected,,he then told the board that a deal could not be done with Formgrids,,, it is clear that the RA could afford to advertise with Formgrids so did he lie ?? and why pull the tiny bit of support ???

it looks like the RA has completly dropped the ball with the fiasco at the Vaal.
Seemingly not trying to take any action against Phumelela in the interests of Owners and racing in General.
sad state of affairs.
RA non functional should be abolished

Why abolish Sylvester? The members just need to vote in new leadership..... they did it a few years ago. I didn't know that when they voted for change a few years ago the new leadership would stay for ever......
I am not an RA member but any organisation that does not vote in new leadership to ensure that the organisation remains progressive only has themselves to blame.

.....not that simple as before....major problem that most members not in favor with the way the RA is run have left.....in the past Larry W was voted to the RA board by the RA members calling themselves concerned owners....their concerns were that the RA was being run by Phumelela through agents of/ or directly by (at that time) Jooste.....Larry as a RA board member did not receive salaried remuneration...the RA board then went out to find a replacement RA racing Manager(Clyde Basel's position) much money was spent...Larry said that no suitable candidates had applied ... Larry then took a newly created salaried position as CEO of the RA.....sanctioned by the then RA board members....the very same people the concerned owners were trying to keep from running the RA....

Thanks M but surely there are now Concerned Members that want change??? Or has a position been created that will last to end of days? They must have an AGM where members get a vote?

......TS.... as a CEO of any local organisation you can only be removed from the position by your board.....or by committing a serious fire-able offence.....assault comes to mind.....and so does gross mismanagement....current RA members will have a tough time to vote enough members to the board to make such a change.....specially under the eyes of the current RA salaried management....

Agreed M, but not impossible if members actually vote.
The simple question of how many RA members are registered in WC, PE & JHB as well as the number of members horses running in each jurisdiction has not been asked. This would help lend weight, or not, to the decision to spend money on two races in CPT...... and I don't mean WC members who's horses race in PE.
Well if RA members want change then change the board.... get mobilised and get voting.

.....Like SA politics....it would be a lot easier to start a new party(owners organization)....LG was on the right track with Brian B owners organization having a chapter in P lands.....then you may have critical mass to stand against both the operators.....

Charl please try get Larry to answer my comment, i am not persons who is “negative towards the sport of racing.” in fact quite the opposite, I have spent uncountable hours and money supporting and uplifting the sport of horseracing,, also please note that I am aiming this directly at Larry and in no way am iI including any board member of the RA,, also notice that all the guys that advertise and support Turftalk don’t advertise or support Formgrids, ask yourself why ??? ,,
