Flamingo Park Monday thread
8 years 2 months ago
Contrary to most people out there, Flamingo Park is one of my favorite punting tracks. But this card looks 'challenging', to say the least.
Anyone got any ideas or knows what we can bank on?

It looks tough , agree bokked , but it's the only track in the country that have full fields , 148 runners carded in 10 races but if you do little homework you can go close if not winning.
I checked the card and seen a few i think is false fav .
And we getting a 100k bonus into the pick 6 pool.
I will try my luck

Ziets I have blown my budget for the week already so can't be backing any of your runners. All the best big boy hope you lead in a winner or three

Hey Ziets, cards are allowed to be tough at any venue and it just so happens that tomorrow is one of them. Personally I like punting at Flamingo because if a horse improves there is generally a logical reason somewhere in the form line. Other centers shock results tend to come from reasons I cannot fathom or foresee (such as races run with false pace or mystery viruses)
Difficult results happen anywhere. I just find trainers at Flamingo more honest with their comments and runners than at the bigger centers. Part of the reason, in my opinion, is that trainers at Flamingo are always trying to prove themselves (to continue getting horses sent to them) whereas trainers at the bigger centers tend to be more cagey and hold their cards closer to their chests (so as to, justifiably & rightly so, ensure their owners have first crack at the information)
My punting style tends to always look for an improver at 10-1 that a sure thing at 1-10. I just find that, if you do your homework, at Flamingo you can find value
For me, the hardest course in South Africa to pick consistent results is Greyville Polytrack. Which is sad for me because I grew up within walking distance of the track

This is the one day that I don't mind if Hollywood goes down. It would be a blessing in disguise.

Back in the black. A football act bet came through this evening so will be doing my usual £1 each way on all of your runners
