I think he just feels like many trainers these days that the comments are asked for far too far in advance ? The comments get sent to publications with ties to bookmakers and remember tarrys yard has some big punters as clients. On race days and USO he's always liberal with his comments
he is on record as saying we will not suggest/punt a horse until he sees it going down... he is often on USO and i heard his comments the other day where he gave Brave Nomad(unraced) a big chance in a weak field...
What I like about him is that he does have buying power but he is NOT reckless with his owners cash and does not try to be sales topper at every sale... he also buys some unfashionable sires(I suspect on his brother's advice) .. He is a super trainer who is able to get wins out of horses when others would have retired them ...BARACAH won his first race as a juv in 2011 and won 2 races last season and still might fluke one this year
