yes that is a free bet with sky,but our bright sparks take 33 cents of every rand wagered for their coffers on all soccer bets taken with the tote.to me that is daylight robbery.

Of that 33 cents that they take out how much of it goes to the government as tax

as far as i know if you bet on sports with the bookies no tax,but im not sure what the story is with the tote.i would think that the government would be fair and not tax sports bets with the tote,but i'm not sure,but i'm sure someone on this site would know and be so kind to inform us.

Who in their right mind would take the bet that you are suggesting? It's a novelty bet a bit of fun. If I could play it I would spend maybe R36 at most doing a perm. Adds to your afternoon enjoyment and maybe with luck, well a lot of luck, you pick up a win along the way. Beats sticking R36 on a favourite only for it not to jump at the start or run a dismal last then to hear the trainer say oops the horse was not quit ready to run but watch it next time
