The long game....
8 years 2 months ago
....I have mostly never been a fan of backing favorites and rather like most look for value...but hardly ever play against them.....however there was a period in the late 80's early 90's I was privy to very good info from a stable where owner/s were big punters....had a work rider/jock in the stable that gave the graft mainly on 1st timers and maidens.....problem was the punting owner would climb in the day before....and on race day the horses were often deep in the red or on top of the boards.....so when a mate and I went to Loveday street....we would go in early and place bets at SP.....more often the horses would drift to more reasonable odds....but 8 out of 10 arrive....I called this the long game...however wanting a bigger win....took the profits and invested them in exotics..... :S
