If you like Prince of Kahal in the third then you should be watching Alex The Great in the first. Just saying

Race 1 Purple diamond should win unless the MDK runner is ready.
Race 5 State Star should kill them today

Don't think we'll get rich today ... most races look pretty straight-forward
R1: Purple Diamond comes out of pretty strong Cape form, so just needs to take the turn to win; Alex the Great is knocking at the door, but will probably have to settle for 2nd again; Mutawaary not finding any betting support, so may need the run, so for 3rd both Bennu (improved 2nd effort) and Polar Ice (set to improve on debut) must be considered imo
R2: Looks a match between Turaathy and Countess Var; Effortless is finding some betting support, so based on that, could fight out 3rd with Playing Games, Elegant Beauty and Omo Power
R3: Prince of Kahal made a nice debut and is my pick from Imperial Past who has started favorite in both starts to date; unlikely (but not impossible) that a roughie can spoil the party as likely candidates like Toby Coates and Cape Flyer are both drawn wide
R4: Flying Russian has proved costly to follow and may again have to play second fiddle should Seattle Seahawk find further improvement in his 3rd start - again these 2 stand out and the others like Dancing Rebel, Synergy and perhaps Clever Move will probably be fighting out 3rd
R5: State Star all the rage and justifiably so - ran to higher than her rating last time and due to her being foaled in the Northern Hemisphere in April, also gets an additional WFA allowance, so very hard to beat imo; the race for second is not so clear cut however; Street Gaze won her maiden in a canter, so could also be in front of the handicapper at this stage; Seattle Tango also on my ratings ran to higher than her official rating, so looks real place value at current odds. This being a novice HANDICAP, means that in theory all of the others bar Queenie and For Show me Ange, must be considered for trifectas and quartets
R6: I find it hard to split Doosra (may find his earlier good form again with the blinkers), Matador Man (best weighted and probably better over sprints) and Romi's Boy (can still improve)
R7: Toughest race on the card, many with chances including the supported Rebuked who has a big swing at the weights with fancied runners BArbel Run and Dreamuponadream; Captain von Trapp gets a tongue-tie fitted - field race in the excotics for me
R8: Guns and Roses all the rage, obvious chance, but for me she is running of her correct rating based on her maiden win, so that brings older fillies like Juba and Tangerine Lady, who are receiving chunks of weights from GaR, into the race.
Enjoy
