Vaal Grooms day was a great success

Shew ! Long but really fulfilling day!

We started with 16 teams, on a knock out basis, 5 a side, 19 minutes each way on a small field. 14 games later and we had the final - Scott Kenny's HOME BOYS against the Handlers IT'S A RUSH team. Its a Rush were simply too good and bagged the money.
Not only the Vaal Grooms were present, but taxi loads of family and friends arrived. Braai fires were on the go , music on the side and non stop Soccer.
Vaal Trainers were there and some Owners too. Piere Strydom came out, with his family, of own accord to support the Vaal grooms and their day. Piere handed the prizes to the winning team. Its obviously not just his superior riding that makes him so great - he appreciates the efforts of everyone in Racing !
Prize money to the tune of R35k was divided out amongst the grooms on the day.
Overall a fantastic day spent, acknowledging the efforts of the grooms.

I am quite exhausted now, its been a busy few weeks putting it all together, but it was a really great and fulfilling day.
