SCOTIA ON ROYAL ASCOT DAY ONE!
17 years 8 hours ago
Good morning to the CLAN.
As a follow up to my weekend post below, had to leave the part with regards "Tiger", what a star, but back to the horses.
Have not changed my thoughts as far as Ascot.
DAY ONE.
The Queen Anne
I expect a huge run from Finsceal Beo and is a strong e.w. selection, in a very open race.
Kings Stand Stakes
All SA eyes on National Colour, and 25/1 for a win and 5/1 a place, you cant do much damage, but will have to be back to its best to beat Fleeting Spirit and Takeover Target.
St James Palace
Henrythenavigator is a hot money on shot, but will be sticking with Twice Over e.w.
Coventry Stakes
Very open event, but note that this race in 10years has never been won by a horse in double figures and maybe we should stick with this trend and take Art Connoisseur and Orizaba to fight it out.
Ascot Stakes
A nightmare, but slight fancy for Liberate a small e.w.
Windsor Castle
With 26 runners a race to watch only, but if you are having a bacon roll for supper try a little Saucy Brown.
I am afraid to say, I can only catch the replays, but enjoy.
good punting!

I am looking forward to Royal Ascot next week, it starts on Tuesday, with the King Stand Stakes, where Fleeting Spirit is the one to beat, however the Aussie, Takeover Target will be sure to make a race of it, and don't forget the SA interest National Colour.
The Queen Anne is also on day one and as I suggested last week that Finsceal Beo was my early selection in a difficult race, note! it has been backed from 14/1 to 7/1.
The other big race on the Tuesday is the St James Palace where Henrythenavigator is money on fav, but I will give Twice Over another chance.
Day 2 the 18th has the Prince of Wales plus the Royal Hunt Cup, Duke of Marmalade looks hard to beat and the run by Finsceal Beo on the Tuesday can frank the form?
The Cup should be a "Bankable" race for the punters.
Day 3 is Gold Cup day and Yeats should lift the Cup and expect Coastal Path and Geordieland to follow the champ home.
The last day has the other big sprint, the Golden Jubilee where a couple of the runners from the King Stand Stakes usually come back for more and the game Takeover Target has to beat Sakhees Secret and US Ranger, but keep a watch for another SA star War Artist, who has made a good start on UK soil.
The golf is underway and Ernie is looking better, but don't ignore the Tiger after a slow start.

I see Linngari is running in the Queen Anne today, but trained by Michael Stoute, not Herman Brown.
Thundering Star and Diamond Quest both running in the Gold Cup on Thursday.
