They cant have many horses in the cape. such small fields. Stables must stand empty, Trainers suffering. but
Congrats Van niekerk a five timer today.

So UK racing must also be rubbish then, fields of 2 or 3 runners is a frequent occurrence

Cape racing is on the way out. Only a matter of time and they will race once a week
the racing is dominated by the BIG guys. Big owners big stables and their jockeys.
Small owners are vanishing and the "small Jockey" cant make a living.
The stakes are cut if the field is small but the cut the 4th and 5th place money ie 7 1/2 %
Why don't they cut the total stake and let the money filter down.
Maybe Just maybe they want CT to fail so they can with all their assets be taken over by the
obvious choice Phum
If so they are doing a good job Stables are empty At least 120 in Milnerton

you may have a point as it has been mentioned on here that they are thinking of selling Kenilworth. The amount of money that can be made from that will be eye watering.

This can't be the case, these stables are probably only empty because the Cape trainers have moved their horse to KZN for the season.
