Little bit disappointed with a few of the scratchings for the Fillies and Tsogo sprint. Cant argue with the fields but both of them missing a few I would have liked to have seen.
Exquisite touch and Green pepper in the fillies would have improved the interest.
Likewise a few of the up and coming 3 year old sprinters in the Tsogo are missing for 1 reason or another. Always in Charge is obvious one.
Despite them not having done enough to make the field, there is improvement to come in a few that I would like to have seen in the field, rather than some higher rated horses that have no recent form over the sprints to earn their place. Its a G1 not a prep race after all.

It’s showdown time for 55 of the fastest thoroughbreds in South Africa when four Grade 1 sprints take place over 1 200m at the Scottsville racecourse in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday, May 27.
For the past 55 years the meeting, in recent years staged as the Tsogo Sun Sprint Raceday, has been the premier speed gathering in the country with the four feature events forming the Jackpot and an exciting buzz of anticipation among the large crowd that gathers to witness the best fleet-footed horses in the land.
The final fields have been announced and they include the leading sprinters in the country including the brilliant Captain Al mare Carry On Alice that bids to win the R750 000 South African Fillies Sprint for the second time after winning it two years ago in 2015.
There is blistering speed present in all four of the events including the R1-million Tsogo Sun Sprint where a full field with two reserve runners has been announced including the runner-up in the Grade 1 Computaform Sprint, Talktothestars. Back in top form, the Overlord gelding beat all but the new sprinting sensation Rafeef in that race and finished ahead of favourite Carry On Alice.
Carry On Alice thrashed the boys in the Grade 1 Betting World Cape Flying Championship and heads the field for the South African Fillies Sprint where she is sure to be challenged by some very talented three-year-olds including the daughter of Captain Al, the Secret Is Out. But “Alice” is a special individual who was far from disgraced when third in the Computaform Sprint and, back over one of her favourite tracks, she will not go down without a fight.
The two juvenile races, the R750 000 Tsogo Sun Gold Medallion and the R750 000 Allan Robertson Championship, could provide the most thrilling finishes of the day with many having proven their talent in winning or being highly place in important juvenile contests. Many of the potential stars among them will be meeting for the first time which sets the stage for nail-biting contests and the possibility of upset results.

Well I was liking Naafer but 13/10 no thank you  Sand and Sea appeals more at 7/1
I have taken 5/1 Live Life and 11/2 Attenborough and 7/1 London Call. They probably won't be that price come race time.

Is he really that big! Wow I have not checked but I thought on the way he won he would be 4-1 - that's worth a bet

I think I will pop into the SA Bike Festival at Kyalami on Saturday. But O must first learn how to record racing on the DSTV.

I see it opened at 25/1 and now at 14/1 but surely Talktothestars must be a big runner. Was flying at the finish in the Computaform Sprint. He won this race last year carrying 60kg's and after that win went to a 121. He is back down to a 113 now and looks to be coming back to form at the right time. He is no stranger to carrying weight so I don't see the 60kg's being an issue.
