Shaheen was champion. Comfortable, at ease, witty, funny, knowledgeable, a punters man.

Now... dear oh dear. I can't resist some dissecting:

1. Cecil - as affable and long as he's been there, his diction is poor: the number of times begins sentences with "It is..." Pay attention and you sure to find it very annoying - and just not English, and how a presenter should communicate. Clear and simple is better. For him, its become an "unconscious incompetence". And, he's verbose (talks way too much). He needs a coach to help him learn, unlearn and relearn habits.

2. Shane McGregor - no please. Stick the soccer tips. Nervy, edgy, serious... that said - he's getting a bit more comfortable in his second week. Still, TT should surely profile the requirements and attributes that makes a great TT presenter.

3. New lady - Rob Bekkos(?) wife? Poor coherency/ clarity/ pronunciation... TT is now becoming desperate and inviting friends, brothers, cousins, in-group connections to fill in for what appears a massive void for talent. It can't be so: there are talented people with the right profile to raise the standard for TT. Perhaps the pay is lousy, or they just not looking hard enough.

Molly was authentic and likeable - get him back, if not too old and health is good. Ali - best, professional, hard working currently. Julie - perhaps TT studio is way above her now, but good asset. Neil Andrews - way more talented to be doing TT studio. Alston - just needs to smile more, take it easy, not be so serious - good with finding some nice horses in his selections though. Brandon - hopefully follows in Ali's steps/ example.

Overall, concerning. But, it seems the state of SA racing reflected at TT.
