Race 5:Blarney Bay surprisingly did not really enjoy the poly- he seemed to over- race early and lacked his usual resolute gallop all the way to the line. He is getting close to pension age, but still is keen enough on the job and we are hoping that back on the turf track, he can earn a cheque despite the wide draw.
The handicapper has certainly not been kind to him, however the compressed weight scale is to his advantage against the lower rated horses. Kingvoldt has recently come back to form, and is the one to beat. Razed in Black should be thereabouts, and Our Icon is in good form and must be respected.
These 4 should fight it out.
Race 2: Captain Marooned is much the best of the older horses but will get cheek from Coyote Creek
Race 6: Coltrane and Arezzo are weighted to turn the tables on Alghadeer and I expect these three to fight it out.
