"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Thursday 19th June Workings.

Afternoon,

This afternoon completed and went as follows...

The 1st runner we wanted 3.2 and with being around 3.35 on arrival and then dropping down to us and very slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The price then drifted back out to our own price of 3.5 and beyond, before coming back down again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for builders and traders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result..

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.7 and with drifting to around 2.76 on arrival and then coming down to us, we had a lay at 2.7. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.....

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.7 and with being around 3.7 on arrival and getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so all had to avoid the race. The runner ran a poor race and so the drift more than justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'.......

The 4th runner we wanted 1.5 and with being around 1.52 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 1.5. The lay went and won a close finish, so the way it goes. Traders got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it..

The 5th runner we wanted 2.1 and with being around 2.5 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a good leave.......

The 6th runner we wanted 2.7, but a non runner and 5.6% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.6. There was then another withdrawal and further 28.6% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.14. The price had dropped to around 1.97 and so we had a lay at 1.97. The lay went and won, so yet another favourite goes in and the way it goes. Traders again got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it...

The 7th runner we wanted 1.7, but a non runner and 23.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.54. The price was around 1.7 on arrival and never came down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a good leave.........

The 8th and final runner we wanted 2.1, but a non runner and 10.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.99. The price was around 2.3 on arrival and never came down to us at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was a well beaten 2nd and so 'one that got away in hindsight'..........

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.................(5 from the 8 (62.5%) and so yet another tough session and all we could do is try to limit the losses)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Conceded 4 targets.........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner and after a good start, they then got into a big battle and ended up conceding 4 targets after their 5th and final lay (the 7th runner)....

'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit........They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.7, but a poor result see them go behind..........They then had their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 1.5, but another poor result see them go a bit more behind.........Then came their 3rd lay (the 6th runner) at 1.97, but another poor result see them go further adrift...........Then came their 4th lay (the 7th runner) at 1.7 and yet another poor result see builders end up conceding between 3 and 4 targets....

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so well played guys on such a tough session...

So yet another session where the favourites win far too many. We have to move on, so best get on with it and hope they relent soon...

Morning,

The workings for this afternoon's racing, as follows..

2.10 Ripon. GRAND STITCH (3.35)

Our price 5/2 (3.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.2 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Please note that more emphasis has had to go on the early markets for clues concerning this race*

2.20 Warwick. ARABIAN ART (2.6)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.7 or under. *Traders be aware that she has shown a tendency to lead or race very prominently in her races, so no surprise to see her do the same this afternoon - Also please note that a 'little' more emphasis has gone on the early market for clues concerning this race*

2.45 Ripon. TIMBER TREASURE (2.8)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.7 or under we'll go in for a lay.

2.55 Warwick. COUNTRYWIDE CITY (1.64)

Our price 8/11 (1.727) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.5 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although lightly raced, he has shown he can lead or race prominently and so no surprise to see the same tactics applied this afternoon - Also please note that a 'little' more emphasis has gone on the early markets for clues concerning this race*

3.45 Ascot. YEATS (2.34)

Our price 7/5 (2.4) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.1 or under we'll go in for a lay.

4.00 Ripon. BEN CHORLEY (2.5)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.7 or under. *Traders be aware that he has a tendency to lead or race very prominently in his races*

4.10 Warwick. MONAADEMA (1.96)

Our price Evens (2.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.7 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although very lightly raced, she did show prominently on debut, so no surprise to see her show the same tactics over this longer trip - Also please note that a 'little' more emphasis has gone on the early markets for clues concerning this race*

4.35 Ripon. SMARTER-THAN-U-THINK (2.14)

Our price 7/5 (2.4) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.1 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that he likes to lead, or race very prominent and no surprise to see those tactics applied again over this longer trip*

All the races were priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 09.58am.

That's what we have to work around for this afternoon then. Again not easy and so expect a fight, but we do have enough to warrant going into battle, so with discipline to the maximum and with taking advantage of any prices that come our way, we'll hope that the value wins the day as it certainly does over a period of time. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings..
