Hi Guys,
Vaal Outside Today:
Race 1: Surcharge(10) 11-10 Was very green and slow away last start and was well clear of third placed runner and will beat Zerodarkthirty(13) 15-10 who is running against his own age group now and is equipped with the blinkers for the first time, interesting. I like Combat Muster(1) 12-1 for the places along with stablemate Manitoba(5) 10-1 to fill trifectas and quartets.
Selection: 10 - 13 - 1 - 5
Race 2: Trifecta(
3-1 ran a good race last time very slow out the gates and has been gelded since. Will appreciate the distance of 1400m as for Man At War(6) 18-10 also gelded but coming off a lengthy break but better drawn. Justify(11) 9-2 Big talk about this colt to run a big race today. Either than that a very open race between the mentioned.
Selection: 8 - 11 - 6 - 1
Race 3: Chapati(3) 5-2 is having her 3rd run after a rest and will strip fitter today. I think the 1700m was too far for her last start and this 1600m will suit her. She races very handy and strydom will keep something left in the tank at the finish as she does give another kick at the finish as shown in her previous starts. BEST BET ON THE CARD
Selection: 3 - 2 - 6 - 9
Race 4: Eurythmics(
22-10 shows good pace and was beaten b a very good filly last time out. She will go start to finish here. Thru Thic And Thin(10) 11-2 will be there after a good debut. The rest of placings is wide open, Gotoluvher(4) 4-1 will be running on along with Osculation(3) 10-1 and Var Agtig(1) 6-1 who shows pace should be left alone and rather run on from the back.
Selection: 8 - 10 - 3 - 4
Race 5: Captain’s Girl(5) 11-2 should run a good race here only because she is getting 15kgs from the top weights over 1000m. How can a horse carry 67kg?????? Well CG will be running at them with a postage stamp. Greasepaint(3) 18-10 and Ronnie Rocket(4) 9-2 will be fighting out the placings along with the top weights.
Selection: 5 - 4 - 3 - 2
Race 6: All Over The World(
5-1 is having her 2nd run after rest and she ran a cracker last start behind spring steel. Shivering Sea(11) 10-1 should beat the favourite on their last meeting together and should beat Khaleesi(5) 17-2 on their last run all on the weight turn around, but Inyanga(4) should beat Shivering Sea on the 21 march run as he is 1kg better off for a 0.40L beating. As you can see a very open race for the placings.
Selection: 8 - 4 - 11 - 3
Race 7: Seeking Venus(10) 4-1 is a BIG RUNNER here. She is 5kg better off than Angel Of Light(14) 14-1 on their last run who is my 2nd choice. Bally Swiss(
7-2 ran against males last time out so will be better against her own here. Kirkconnel Lass(1) 10-1 will run into quartets.
Selection: 10 - 14 - 8 - 1
Race 8: Zelig(10) 7-1 Now this horse I have been waiting to run again and is my BEST VALUE OF THE DAY. 3rd run after rest this gelding ran well on the inside track at turffontein which is the tight circuit and now running down the straight at the vaal which I think will suit him down to the ground. Has dropped a further 3 points on the last run. He is 2.5kg better off with Blue Diamond Road(4) for a 2.2L beating and that was Zelig first run in JHB and rest. Black Cossack(14) 18-1 is dropping in the ratings so is a place chance for good odds. Just A Gigolo(
8-1 will prefer 1600m.
Selection: 10 - 14 - 4 - 6
Race 9: Captain Chips(3) 3-1 This horse has been unlucky not to win his last 4 starts. Last run he ran awfully wide and still ran a cracker behind top 2 year old Prince Of Kahal and Vars Your Daddy who in turn won next time out in an apprentice race. So formline is strong and he will SHIT in. This is my 2nd BEST BET ON THE CARD. Dromedaris(2) 15-2 is my 2nd choice nice exactas/swg to take. Either than that El Bombero(4) 11-2 and Carve The Turkey(13) 17-2 have place chances with Gold Status(5) 17-2

Competitive card but there could be a few nice bets.
I will be saving most of my money for the last two races of the day and will be playing an Alec Laird double on Blue Diamond Road and Captain Chips.
My best bet on the card come in the 4th Race. Eurythmics looks a serious runner. She is getting better with each race she runs. She is speedy and ran a cracking second behind Celestina who came out to win again over the weekend. I see her stablemate is attracting support but she has had a few chances to win and I feel Eurythmics is more progressive. Gunter I would imagine would have had first pick. I make Thru Thic and Thin her biggest danger as she would have come on from that debut run but 3 lengths is still a lot to make up. The 28/10 looks really good value to me and if this one wins I will be having Sweet Dreams.
Play well.

All Over The World - 5/1
Ran a great race behind Spring Steel and should run a cracker. Stable companion Last Chirp is a huge price too.
Bally Swiss - 4/1
Ran to the boys last time, drawn outside and Lyle has come back with a bang.
Streetwear - 20/1 each way
Showed some smart form before going off the boil, back to a winning mark and Zackey will give him a strong ride.

Cross headwind today which could cost the frontrunners...
Eurythmics is very well in herself and has also worked very well.
Bling is injured so we have Striker on Gotoluvher, which is obviously why she has shortened. We have put half cup blinkers on her as per Bling's request after last run. She is working well and should be running on.
Captains Girl wasn't aimed at this race as she has recently returned from KZN. But it would have been silly to ignore this race at the weights.... She steps up in class but if she is fully over the journey, she must have a good chance. The race will tell...
On the card I like the following -
Race 1 - Surcharge- has huge scope.
Race 2 - Man at War - weak field.
Race 4 - Eurythmics - she is a decent sort, but it is a strong field...
Race 6 - Secret Star - won very well last time.
