Phumelela Employees Punting

Listening to Rob Scott,I think it's high time that anybody employed by Phumelela or any of it's subsidiaries should no longer be allowed to have bets unless they are punting on the tote.
If we as punters are going to have to listen to the 'it's the right thing to do' speech all the time,it's only right that this should be enforced as the company's policy.

Basically just telling punters 'it's the right thing to do' to bet on the tote if you love racing.
I hear this tripe all the time.Nobody punts other than to win, even if it is recreational. To imply that's it's my duty to racing to punt on the tote as opposed to bookmakers is ridiculous.
So if that's their line,I think Phumelela should lay down the law to their staff.
You don't get to have your cake and eat it in my book, not if that's the line they want to take.

So in theory you could only be cross if an employee bet with a bookie that offered the open bet. Betting World and Track and Ball owned by the operators so I presume that would be ok?
Spill the beans you clearly have an example in mind

Scott was saying punters should have their bets on the tote, because it supports racing. He said " I know punters like to know what they getting when they have a win bet,but betting on the tote is good for racing,"or words to that effect.
He's entitled to say that of course, but my take is that if that is the company line then all employees of the company should have to toe that line in order to set an example.
I know this is moronic, which is my point!

They need to work on offering value to the punter to attract their business, and not play the sentimental card. That's the role of management. It's like saying be patriotic and buy locally produced goods, when the actual product is crap....won't work.

I have been a customer of betting world greyville since it was opened in 1992 long before it became bworld and i can tell you that the place in the last year has become very empty and the service of staff members and also the new caterers is shocking ..i have sent emails in this regard to vee moodley who assures me it is being dealt with but it goes from bad to worse with many patrons going to other bookmakers ..besides the above the prices on offer by bettingworld are pathetic especially the place prices ,,,the biggest problem bettingworld have is dean finder who should be a branch manager at best and has zero people skills to say the least

Couldn't agree with you more, they 1 to 2 points less than what's on offer at any other bookie and have to pick up the phone to call some trader to allow R10 000 on a horse. They, like most bookies would let you hang yourslef for 100 x 5k bets but god forbid you want to win 50k or 100k of a horse the you simply can't get a bet. Keep your pretty venue and mediocre staff. I would rather deal with someone in a dingy tattersalls that has got a pair of balls on them to lay a proper bet and give me a chance to make some money. The game is hard enough as it is and all you are doing is adding more complication and reducing a partners chances with all your rules and regulations. Won't spend R1 of my money with Betting World.
