Moving the Vodacom July to Scottsville from 2018

having a look at the poor track on Saturday and the weird setup of the in field Tents, would it not make more sense to move the July to Scottsville.

Extending that thought. Scrap the grass track at Greyville. Move winter season Grade 1s to Scottsville.

use greyville as midweek and Night racing Polytrack Only.

just an opinion

dig up everything turf and poly track

start fresh again

this current track doesn't deserve grade 1 races

Can someone post pics of Greyville and Ngong ?

they look the same

Year in an out will go the track will never gain the respect it deserve...heads should have fallen long ago...whether crowds attend the July pools go up the investment in the track will never attain the ability it once had. Sly cam PMB hold the crowd??

The day-trippers have no idea how bad the track and Racing in SA is - For them its just a day to get dressed up, get pissed, have a punt and then go home - We loyal mug punters and owners are the ones that see the Iceberg but our Captains believe they are doing nothing wrong but the ship is sinking faster than you can say "Time-Bomb"

In fact, I won't be surprised if fewer owners and trainers risk their prized horses on this track, going forward....looking at what happened to Elusive Silver . The fields will become even less inspiring :( .

Can the owner or trainer take legal action if their horses are injured due to the track ?

So Scottsville track is better than Greyville? Ralph will be happy to hear. RP is absolutely right. It will never happen. Scottsville track could never hold the crowds. The tents which a few years ago were just in front of the stands and 2 deep are now 5 deep and go to the turn. Gambler, the owners cannot take legal action. Run at your own risk. Lionel, Elusive Silver had had the same injury before and just re injured it. Could have happened anywhere.

What I cant understand is that there is more than 1 track in sa , that's trainers complain about but for some reason Greyville is the only 1 that keeps being spoken about on ABC

I still say Fairview is the best

Luk at our Berlin November Handicap here in the Eastern Cape.

We have bigger growds then the July and mur high profile ppl.

Mur youngsters especially the BEE's

The whole executive of the Eastern Cape Legislature attends

I vote Fairview.
I will not win Immediately but Definitely.

Do you know why they call it the Durban July and why they run it in Durban?

The clue is in the name

Probably true Craig. But the track condition was a concern especially the pull up area. Marcus said as much, hence he cut short his gallop on Edict.
