Attracted a good field, these days even a million rand stake doesn't seem to attract decent fields.

Gold Circle and Prosport International are pleased to welcome World Sports Betting as sponsors of the 2017 R1-million Champions Cup (Gr1) to be run over 1800m at Greyville on Saturday, 29 July.

The World Sports Betting Champions Cup will headline a 9-race programme on Day 1 of the inaugural Racing Festival with the eLan Gold Cup topping the bill on Day 2, Sunday, 30 July 2017.

R80 will buy you entrance to both days’ racing and tickets can be purchased from any Computicket outlet.

“We are delighted to have World Sports Betting on board,” said Gold Circle’s Marketing Executive Graeme Hawkins. “The inaugural Racing Festival, presented by Prosport International, promises to combine the best of thoroughbred racing with top class entertainment and presents us with a grand opportunity to bring the curtain on South Africa’s Champions Season in style,” he added.

Why 2 days ...can greyville cope with 2 meetings on the weekend? Y not stick to the 12 race programme as before?

the regular punter won't enjoy this

most won't be able to afford punting both days given its before month end

Maybe we should give it a chance instead of writing it off it 3 weeks before the 1st race ?
