I don't like this.

It speaks about removing the human element from it but how does a machine pick up if a horse goes wrong during exercise and needs to be pulled up quickly?

Also, another aspect of racing is the whole horsemanship element as well. Jockeys knowing when a horse feels ready to win after a great bit of work etc (although this machine probably just supplements rather than replaces completely).

The cost of R350 m is more thAn they sold Clairwood for , so I doubt coming to SA anytime soon

It seems to me it is designed to counter the human element _ It's for young horses so that they don't pick up bad habits or are pushed too early as babies - It seems more of a pre training tool than an actual training system if you read the article

Indeed. Getting some safe work into young horses without a sack of potatoes rider on their back until they are stronger can't be a bad thing. Its a bit more natural for a horse than a treadmill and of course being able to work bunch at once is way more useful .
