The obvious horse was Azzie's Spring Breeze, and she was my first choice. However, she has had a couple of hard races recently, and has never raced at Scottsville. She has done well racing handy, but this was a tougher trip, and a wide draw. I am always very wary of juvenile races as they are all improving at different rates, and often throw up results. The weight conditions of this race are unusual, favouring the lower weights. If the favourite did not win, it was wide open. Hence, I played wide in this leg. Fullfillyourdream put up a decent debut effort, was receiving weight, and on breeding would enjoy the step up in trip. With normal improvement from first to second run she had to be considered. The second favourite, Pearl Glow, was also a maiden, and was giving her 6kg!
