legendary bookie dies
16 years 11 months agoJP MCMANUS, whose exchanges with bookmaker Freddie Williams at the Cheltenham Festival have become the stuff of legend, on Sunday led the tributes to the fearless on-course layer who died at his Ayrshire homeon Saturday night. He was 65.
Williams, widely known as “Fearless Freddie”, suffered a fatal heart attack after returning home from betting at Glasgow's Shawfield greyhound stadium having also stood at Ayr races during the afternoon. A workaholic, he was on duty at Musselburgh on Friday after which he hired a helicopter to be at Ayr that night.
Williams underwent a quadruple heart by-pass in 1998, a few months before paying £90,000 for the No 2 pitch at Cheltenham to realise what had been a life-long ambition to bet at Prestbury Park.

Not positive..realistic. Have you seen those American boys bluff? They are masters at work..where there is money of that magnitude at stake they are all well up for it. Hibernia will be taken by all the razmatazz of Vegas, trust me I have first hand experiance.
