The problem with Tap O Noth for me today is that he is 5kg out at WFA with Our Mate Art. The latter is not far behind the best of his generation. His last run can be ignored- he patently did not stay the derby trip. The difficulty is that both return from short breaks and their level of fitness is not known. That brings Cot Campbell into the race as he ran at the end of August, and hence should be match fit- however, even getting the 3kg, I rate the other two higher.
Steel Rose is on the upgrade and will be in the quartet.
The other two runners are weak handicappers and shouldn't be in this field.

For me, the key is to establish whether you agree with their MR's, TON and OMA.

I was prepared to count on hoal living up to my 271 rating back over 1000m....but i dont think i will be that brave with one for one in next race......first timer at evens, better to sit out the race....and perhaps a star is born...or not.

I like Dayonaut. He and Hemmingway pulled a few lengths clear LTO in a nice display. He can get his nose in front today. Dance a jig big danger

I could kick myself for breaking rwo cardinal rules.....always bet against the first timer and don.t get swayed by track talk.......guess it was all the firts timer winners at turfontein that held me bzck from the wager......sad....as i said i could kick myself.
