Got snow drift to beat.

got a chance but got a few to beat, there was only 3.65 lengths from 1st to 2nd last in his previous race. same sort of field agian and i am sure the appy will be okay. far under par although getting old has run some decent races and ran only 2 lengths of juanfra last time even though both finishedout the money, so i give this old fella a chance with snowdrift ,kahalay and even jet man.

Why is Falcon fighter so short in the betting, although we all know the Jhb maidens are generally stronger this chap got mediocre form.

Combat Leader must lead from the break ......then make the others pick up their feet.These tactics should pay off.

Snowdrift will be there,didnt settle in 2nd last run and only has 60kg this time....blue tiger should be a banker.

Meteor shower will run a much improved race and this is hot his goal.Ithink combat leader will run 3 lengths better than last time .

I agree with The Duke HH,the point of using an appie must be to take advantage of the -4.

The horse needs to bowl in front.He showed at Scottsville he's got the speed to do that,so the change of tactics last time was odd,especially as you liked his chances.This appie has had a few rides now,and seems to fancy himself as a top jock who can sit in behind them in his races and then get the horse to quicken.He is too weak,as most are,and should make sure it gets to the front and let the horse do the work.I say if Combat Leader gets to the front today he wins.

Computaform says slow last time,so maybe that's an excuse.You got balls,drawn 3 why not get the kid to stay left from a 3 draw and bowl clear by himself on the inside of the course.Obviously if there is a strong head wind that wouldn't be advisable,but no reason why it couldn't work otherwise.

There's even more reason to take a chance and go inside;virgin ground thanks to them all coming out due to the false rail around the bend being wide.
