If we can’t get on, maybe bookies should be limited as well? Max stake sizes!!

that will never happen, as who do you honestly think runs horse racing?

I wish that I was a big dog. I find that I want the 50k bet on very few occasions these days, and when I do 95% of the time it involves a sporting bet and not a racing one. I have lost confidence in the integrity of the sport, and whilst sport has its very prominent examples of cheating, I feel that I get a far fairer roll of the dice.

I think that what has happened to you (and most of us!) is that 'sport' rather opened our eyes to the issue of transparency & genuinely being able to weigh up the likely outcome against the odds on offer and known 'form'. There is little or nothing that you will not know about the competing sides when they run onto the field. The same, for obvious & sometimes unsavoury reasons, cannot be said about horse racing.

Sport also offers the option to trade 'in running'. So it is possible to adjust your position if your fancy were to be metaphorically 'slow away' or 'stuck in the stalls'. No such opportunity exists on horse racing in South Africa although the UK has Betfair & similar exchanges. In betting parlance this is like enforcing the use of landlines only when cellphones are used elsewhere but not everywhere. But not to worry - racing authorities DID initially also ban cellphone use on the racecourse for reasons I really cannot fathom. So at least they are consistent!

To illustrate a point - If I were an habitual favourite backer (your first mistake!) then about 35% of your fancies will arrive. That means you should strike 1 winning bet for every 2 losing bets. That is just about enough to keep you alive, interested & churning bets through whatever medium you choose to use. If it happens to be the tote you will be raped to the tune of at least 20% of every bet you strike; which will simply hasten your eventual demise.

@ Garrick

This is not the first time I have read about your passionate support for interbet and how to get on etc. etc.
What do you make of this:
1st email:
Kindly be informed that our Trading Department has taken a decision to reduce your betting liabilities to R500.00 per event with immediate effect.
Our trading systems suggest that your betting patterns on Interbet resemble more of a professional rather than a casual nature. Our policy is to limit the liability per event for customers such as yourself and rather direct you to the more professional Interbet betting exchange zone where higher limits are available on the major sporting and horseracing markets that are available on that site.
Thanks and kind regards
The Interbet Team
2nd email (some 6 months later)
Hi
Our systems reveal that your betting patterns on Interbet are of a professional rather than a casual nature. Our policy is that professional and bookmaking users are subject to a monthly subscription of R799 per month. Should you wish to continue to utilise the Interbet exchange, kindly acknowledge that you are amenable to the subscription with effect from 1 April 2017, or alternatively please notify us if you do not wish to continue on that basis and your access to the exchange site will be suspended.
Thanks and kind regards
The Interbet Team

Didn't YYYbet come out with a big mouth and no limits as well and never lasted more than 6 months in the industry...

Industry certainly needs space for bigger players in the market, dealing with these online bookmakers is a absolute joke, phone for a bet, get 5k when you have asked for 20k and then you get offered the next 5k at a shorter price:)

You deal with clerks on a phone who have to check with their supervisor, its a painful process, and not even worth going through.

They have killed the game, hopefully this new innovative will bring some life back into the game for all who are suffering to these current WSB, Hollywoods,Bettingworlds,LM, to name just a few...

IMO bookmakers on line or not don't like to lose regularly to a punter who is primed and the strike rate is not within the norm.. so when you limited as a punter you have hurt them.. :) will it change with bigger players i dont think so nobody likes to lose especially a bookie on a regular basis.
