Disclaimer: Do not go betting my selections like there is no tomorrow -- I have been building an indicator profile for turfontein and scottsville for a long time - while I have only built a profile for this track over the last three meetings.
Selections have been mmade without reference to the tote board - I will be using the tote to decide whether a selection is a play or not.
Race 1: Run for your Life has been solidly backed in these three runs for the stable, and has found excuses in all three. Berrypunch looks to improve and could be a challenger along with Cristian. Paper Town is the money horse and looks useful and should improve - right up there. If Berrypunch enjoys the longer trip, it will be close - but I'll be hoping Run For Your Life can get it right this time.
Race 2: Big Jay's has ben progressing nicely -might be difficult to reproduce LR peak effort, so may need a run or two- cannot see this one having too many more runs in the maiden's. Kensington Oval - Cape raider, trying the polytrack. Mamba Mania has strengths at this C&D. Admiral's Sword makes some appeal as the top rated horse here and could make the necessary improvement over the longer trip. Chappaquidick was strongly supported on his Polytrack debut and did very well. I am gooing to count on Admiral's sword making strong improvement at this trip. Big Jay's could be the surprise, along with Tough Harry
Race 3: Alghadeer is the merit rated horse here - has been rested, and his two stable companions stake huge claims. Kingston Mines may be better over further, Pyramus has found good form at this trip, and die Kat wasn't far behind him LTO after losing 3 lengths. Pyramus looks to have the stronger form of the three.
Race 4: Very difficult race - but i will take my chances with Space Tattoo
Race 5: Lord Windermere is the benchmark, baheer and Turbo could upset if fit and taking to the longer trip. Both Green Lantern and Bagger Vance to be respected.
Race 6: With JP up on BAH stable companion to Brave Nation - That looks like the one.
Race 7: Pepper Oak has to be Sweetchild'o mine - and looks quite capable of doing that. Keep an eye on Primrose Lane - ran close up to Live Life and competed with William Longsword, basically has competed with the best horses in the country and now to race in fairview - may be a bit sharp here - but has plenty of class.
Race 8: Breathless Bertie looks best in this field.
Race 1: Run For Your Life
Race 2: Admiral's Sword
Race 3: Pyramus
Race 4: Space Tattoo
Race 5: Lord Windermere/Green Lantern
Race 6: Bah
Race 7: Pepper Oak - Primrose Lane if you wanna chance a value upset.
Race 8: Breathless Bertie

Greetings All, I have been a fan of this chat for a while now and decided its time I joined :woohoo:
I am a form follower and everything points to ALGHADEER and LE HARVE as the double for the day. I think PAPER TOWN is the right one is the first with CRISTIAN the biggest danger however has to overcome 14 draw.

Welcome Gladiator
I looked at the card last night and I agree with the above...but still cannot make up my mind about Cristian. Should be thereabouts but I cannot see it winning.
Stranger things have happened though

A small tiny little bird whispered to me that BALCLUTHA is the right one in the 1st.

Race 1: Paper Town to beat Run for your Life
Race 2:Chappaquiddick is on the upgrade and stayed nicely last time- he's my pick. Admirals Sword has stamina on the dam side so could get the trip, and if so, will challenge. Mamba Mania a bit below best last two but always thereabouts. If Kensington Oval takes to the poly he is a runner.
Race 3: Algadeer is the class horse and well in at the weights, but returns from a rest after being reported lame, so can't be relied on. It is Written may be better on turf, but is capable at best. Kingston Mines may find this a bit short -he stays well.
Race 4: Black Hall Bar has consistent recent form and is well in at the weights- the one to beat. Silver Laurel tries poly for the first time. She is well and if taking to the surface should be in the money. Itsmydarlin has plum draw and although not the most consistent is upset potential at a big price. Dancing wall is well in if she can recapture her best Gauteng form. Space Tattoo is an improving sort but as the only 3yo is 4kg out at the weights with Black Hall Bar.
Race7: Pepper Oak has not put a foot wrong and is a possible banker with further natural improvement. Very open if she fails- Kirinia may be the main danger.
