Greetings Clanners! I can't help but think after looking back and forth through the form book that Greg Cheyne may just make a smashing return to home soil aboard EVIE'S LIGHT in race one. I think the drop back to 1200m is just what the doctor ordered and that 2nd to Elusive Heart with same jock who rides today looks particularly interesting especially as Elusive Heart franked the form with a subsequent win out the maidens! For me a great each way prospect at around 10/1. I think SECOND NATURE is maturing into a lovely horse and should be in the winners enclosure with GVN retaining the ride ;)

Double with Hardball on Thursday.
I REALLY hope you right Dean but Hardball seems to be heartless :S but Torio Lake next Tuesday will be a different story..definitely one for the note book,
Hundreds gets the extra 200m plus a 150m longer run in today, crappy price but certainly looks like he will justify those odds...
Give everything but up!

Have committed with a few bets but on looking at the comparative replays by Neil and Ali this horse Scarlett Secret really found the race where Still I Rise just a bit too hot and that is confirmed when you look at the distance behind in the two races

Just a few mm of rain- pen still 21 so firm going. Expected moderate cross-wind. Course will still be running fast.
Race 1. Dark Goddess ran a fair race last time- her first after a wind operation. Was scratched a couple of weeks ago- cast in box, and bumped her leg. Was back in work after a couple of days so expect her to run a decent race from a nice draw and has an ew chance. Quite a competitive field. Bendy Bullet has solid form and a good draw; Ostinato would be first pick if not for her wide draw. Evie's Light another that should contest the finish. London Spirit good debut, and although not the best of draws should show significant improvement with the run under her belt. Polly Again and Goa include back end of quartets.
Race 2: Tiffendel looks the right one if not needing the run. Adorada never showed last time when too far back but is well in at the weights here. Second Nature has best recent match fitness, but is out at the weights with these two.
Race 3: Magic Sailor looks very hard to beat. Seventh Rule the only danger.
Race 4: Hundreds was dropped out from his wide draw on debut, and took a while to get going, but was finishing best of all. We expect him to win today. Greenstreettractor finished just ahead of him last time, also from a wide draw, and is the danger, but I expect that Hundreds will have made the greater improvement as this is only his second run.
Race 5: An open race where pace and tactics could rule, as we saw with an enterprising ride by Red Peril in the feature last week. Most try this trip for the first time, but many have coped well with 2400m so the extra 600m shouldn't be too much of a problem. Desert Wisdom is a bit one paced. He had a warm up over 1600m last time which should have brought him on and he has an ew chance. Paddington should put up a bold showing after coming down in the ratings, and I make him the one to beat. Woodland's Forest appeared to need his last run, and should be competiive here.
Race 6: Very tricky race- go wide in exotics
Race 7:Shall be Free comes back after a break during which he had his vaccinations. Not sure how he will handle this track while it is running fast, as he likes to come from off the pace. He may need the run a bit, but has an ew shout. The interesting horse is Sniper Shot- he had good juvenile form and should end up better than his 94 rating. First run in the Cape, and this would be a warm up for the 3yo races coming up, but he may be good enough even if not fully wound up. Perovskia ran a shocker last time but had very good form before that. Captain Courteous has the plum draw and very consistent form. The lightly raced Kampala Campari can never be ignored.
Race 8: Ontenderhooks, Still I Rise and Double Black all won on debut and any of them could show enough improvement to win again. Dynamic Diana won her second start and is also an improving contender. Namibia has come down in the ratings, but if recapturing her early form could surprise here. There are a couple of decent older fillies so a hot contest expected. Hoist the Mast is likely to be the fittest of the older fillies.

I strongly agree with Evie's Light. double with Hundreds.
