I am sorry but Mydada but to me you are comparing apples with oranges -
First of all your comparing young 3 year olds with Colts and a Filly
MAGICAL WONDERLAND Aldo Domeyer C Bass-Robinson 61.0 8 1 0.00 72.99
KASIMIR Grant Van Niekerk S J Snaith A 55.0 6 1 0.00 71.85
Did you take into account the 6 kg weight difference ? If so then MW ran a very close time to K , A filly against a Colt. The handicapper gave her 6 points , which is probably correct.
If you want to work it out that way then look at -
GOODTIME GAL Anton Marcus M J Robinson A 59.5 1 1 0.00 84.73
OUR MATE ART (AUS) Aldo Domeyer C Bass-Robinson57.0 7 1 0.00 84.06
GG Carried 2.5 kg more than OMA which is just under half a second so she ran to a time of 84.23 - Is she a length or two behind OMA - I doubt it - in fact she is better than Gold Standard on that run
GOLD STANDARD Richard Fourie G S Kotzen 59.0 3 4 1.65 84.36
tks for bringing the weight difference to my attention re Kasimir although Al Mariachi carried the same as MW and his time was slower then the two Gauteng fillies Allan Robertson vs Tsogo'
Without doubt she is the one to beat but im not totally convinced that she will have things her own way.
Their are other theories and arguments against her but will need to refresh my memory

Allan Robertson - Brave Mary run was a bit freakish - she won her Maiden in 56 seconds or something that is a scary time. She was sold straight after that run to Team Valor
Each one for themselves , times are important , but many factors to take into play when leveling the playing field as to who is better than who.

Pirates, being the only 4 time winner in the field, he's not badly out at the weights. Admittedly all the wins have been up to 1200m. In the two defeats, albeit over the 1000m, he has been running on smartly. The real question is whether he stays the distance. My humble opinion, his style of running suggests he will get it comfortably even though he is conceding chunks of weight all-round.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

i am trying to lever in Drier's second filly,so please allow me some latitude.
What do you like for the Cape Classic and are you expecting that race to be quicker then the fillies race?

Yes Boys against girls - Imagine a 14 year old boy running against a 14 year old girl who would you back.
Unless one of the fillies is a freak which I dont really see I doubt it . The one thing you must remember in the Colts race is a Filly with Bottom weight . She might just beat the colts because of the weights .
This is a Group 2 for Fillies , the real test will be the Cape Fillies Guineas thats the one every owner or breeder wants to win . I am sure De Kock will be bringing down one or two of his bombs with Tarry , then we will see who is who in the Zoo .

If we concede that and should Billy Silver ,in spite of being out at the weights with Dutch Phillip, can somehow be ahead of him the filly Marcus rides will have a chance against MW

Gimmethegreenlight conceded 3.5kgs to Depardiu and could not win in the very same race, the Cape Classic. Dutch Philip sire, What A Winter, conceded 3kgs to Solo Traveller in the same race and could not win but Solo Traveller was no slouch. What A Winter though did win the Selangor over 1600m in his next start. Good horses in this race have been caught out by the weight. Adams says weight is no issue....

A few things - I'm happy Adam agrees weight is not an issue, hopefully for both Feature races.
Bass-Robinson proved weight wasn't an issue in the Vodacom July.
Sorry to have hijacked the thread by mentioning the Cape Classic, i have declared my Feature race double, what does everyone else fancy as a matter of interest?

100 MR vs 86 MR = 14 Points = 7 Kg only Running at level wights Marcus horse way out , but only because won once as apposed to MW 3 wins . Champenois is unexposed at this stage . we will have to wait and see but on these conditions Magical Wonderland is the best weighted and Rated horse as she is getting weight from the majority if not the field . That is if you agree with the handicapper , I rated her last win at 96 which brings in Lady in Black (very Bad Draw at this Winter Course ) and then Angel's Trumpet - However AT has not run anywhere near her ratimg in her last couple of runs - In my opinon Meryl ran to the closet to her real rating in her last run from a 14 draw so I will have places on her rather anything else. Either way Magical Wonderland should win only question is will she stay - Yes I believe so , but this might just be her top only time will tell.

Might be wrong and I can't confirm but Red Ray won the Cape Classic giving weight away to a horse called Legislate. So if Dutch Phillip is good enough, he can win. Keep in mind, there should be more improvement to come from him over the 7 furlong. He's my second choice here.
