We have had some nice rain the past few days so hopefully the going will be a bit kinder.
Race 1: I haven't seen Vase since the Sales, but am looking forward to seeing her debut tomorrow. Saltire has had two good runs although only narrowly in front of Flower of Carmel last time. The latter is bred for much further but must be the one to beat with plenty scope for improvement. U For Me and Green Ballerina both slow away on debut and should show improvement. Runaway Rebel has had plenty of chances and unlikely to do more than a minor place at best.
Race 2: Some nice first timers which could win here. What a Winner best of those that have raced. Quarllo can earn a small cheque.
Race 3: I was impressed by Spring Man on debut and he is my pick to win this. Talk of the Town has had two good runs and despite a wide draw should chase him home. Capt Ram and What a Summer fair form and include in trifectas and quartets.
Race 4:.Star of London ran above my expectations on debut, although someone else backed her from 20/1- 6/1. Perhaps the grooms are cleverer than the owner and trainer! She has a wide draw to overcome but I'm expecting a big run- she has reportedly been working well. The stable companion Valentine's Girl has good form and a neat draw, and she and The Boston Rose are the two to beat.Unicorn and Elusive Run should improve after decent debuts.
Race 5: Know the Ropes is still only rated 77 after a good hat trick. I wish the handicapper was that kind to some of my horses. She can win again. Still I Rise won a nice race on debut and could win again. Sequined is a smart sort and must be respected. Double Black's second run was below her debut, but now has a nice draw. Lindleys Lane regained form last time and would not be a surprise winner.
Race 6: Another tricky handicap. River Cam is well in at the weights, but Nordic Chant and Blow in the Box have plenty scope for improvement.
Race 7: Field leg
Race 8: Cape Charlotte duly won when fancied last time and I pick her to win again. Evie's Light could challenge if she behaves. Rustar Dhow has solid recent form and the 4kg claim could prove decisive.

Still in the corner of Know The Ropes, R5, won 3 from 4 starts over the distance and is racing fit.
Fancy Kapen Pride in the 6th, second run in the province, down in class. Must win against this sort of company to maybe qualify for the Guineas or Derby, just my own reasoning.

really am not good at horses but a ittle investigating using Grandiflora as a reference point makes it nigh impossible for either BNE or Kapen Pride (60 kgs) to be ahead of Nordic Chant!

I am not sure about the other runners but its very probable that Cape Charlotte will topple the top one

talk of the tracks today, first 4
VASE
THE BOSTON ROSE
WHAT A WINNER
SPRING MAN
very diffcult to make any choices here today.
Both Saltire and Flower Of Carmel look above average, and either could win with improvement, or just held together. Both could go either way, and might need another run or two to reproduce these last runs - hence cannot really wager on either. Vase must be in the hunt if they are both found a bit flat.
What a winner has to be respected off last run - but will have to repeat, or might also be found flat , so Quarllo is now in form and sitting on a winning mark.
Captain Ram cannot remain a maiden much longer - surely? There is a lot of expectation around Tallk Of the Town and spring man which are both expected to improve and look quite capable.
Need to watch all the runners in the early races that ran behind Trip To Ibiza, to assess this The Boston Rose -- 2nd run was very smart - but needs to repeat that Valentine's Girl, looks the best of the rest , with Elsuive Run potentially an improver.
Very Hard raceing today
