Race 1: No form to speak of, -weak race. The best formline I could find is Dame Commander , and so that brings Exquisite Eight into the race on form. Appears off sorts late but hasn’t been at this trip since – went over 1000m and switched to Poly over longer , racing wide – so worth a shot coming back to this distance on turf. Roy’s Barbel cannot be dscounted.
Race 2: The starting point was Adorned by Beauty , on form behind ideal winter – had terrible form before the rest, returns and get’s appie claim from decent apprentice. Pearl Glow and Continuum not far behind. Continuum is rested and may prefer the extra if not in need of the run. Look for improvement from Indian Rain. Pearl Glow worth a chance as the money horse – if decent odds can be had. Pearl Glow is the one to beat -
Race 3: Once again no form to speak of. St Peters Bay may have been a little closer to Eye’s Wide Open last out, but for losing a length and hitting the rail – lost 2lengths before that and too far back to credit the form line of the last race. Rested 122 Days . Hard to recommend anything else here though – Captain Moss was regarded and a few that could pop up if St Peter’s Bay flops. Francesco was also highly regarded last time out.
Race 4: A number of Formlines to consider here , Zen Arcade via Cumulus recommends Bravo Zulu , although just a bit too far back to credit that or Bad Attitude formline. The Grey Crusader definitely in contention off run behind Big Bear, some bad luck before that. Some other formlines to consider – Gunpowder Plot (Musigny) Kali’s Champ (Turf Conqueror) Edge Of The Sun (Roy’s Physco) Chili Affair, Bypass (Khartoum) While the Grey Crusader looks the part here, I would keep a close eye on Khartoum – over-raced last time out when showing significant improvement, and might now be ready for an effort – The Grey Crusader with Bravo Zulu and Khartoum the two dangers.
Race 5: Couldn’t find much in terms of form African Pharoah and Brighteyebushytail the stands out – although neither was made to work really hard in winning. Royal Rustler is speedy and will be a force at the longer trip – rested, but can draw some lines through Zen Arcade , via Cumulus here. Secret Service and Hokanui make some apppeal off Polytrack form. One that keeps catching my eye is CARONA CIVICA – rested, and may be a very different horse at 1400m – drawn wide, and very long odds. Slightly Scottish and It’s my way (running from 13th place to finish 4th last time out) – have obvious claims. Difficullt race.
Too tired to complete the wafffle ---- good night all.
PEARL GLOW
ST PETERS BAY
THE GREY CRUSADER
Lungi should be a strong runner in the 6th, Race 7 potentials - Crime Viictim/Impact zone/skyfire and maybe Magesh's Jet - like Uprise in the 8th with Russet Roses - Shine Up in the last --- but plenty of dangers.
