can anyone in their right mind tell me WHY we have 5 x grass tracks in Johannesburg / Gauteng ?
surely the most obvious way to go was to scrap the SAND track - BUT replace it with a poly track :oops: Immediately.
The BIGGEST stakes in the country are in JOHANNESBURG - yet P.E. has a poly track & Durban has a poly track. Have they learn't nothing by now about the benefits of the poly track in the other 2 centres ( BUT Durban track is far too bloody narrow to cater for 12 horses Maximum )

I'm not sure if the rain, or was it lightening that caused today's abandonment.
If it was the RAIN, & had there been a poly track at the Vaal, it certainly could have been an option to switch tracks.... as they sometimes do in NATAL.
I thought a poly track has been on the cards for INSIDE TURFFONTEIN for years now, but what is happening ? Anything ?
I am a small time owner, & yes I am speaking from my pocket.. ( I had NO runners today but empathize for all owners out there who lost stake cheques today )
