In my opinion Punters should choose one of the lower priced horses than the longer priced runners as then your ratio to win on how much you staked becomes lower. For example,

A 5/1 runner becomes 7.5/1. To win R10 000 originally you needed R2000 now you need R1 333.

A 12.5/1 runner becomes 18.75/1. To win R10 000 originally you needed R800 now you need R533.

Thats a R667 saving instead of R266 on a longer priced runner.

Thats my 2 cents worth but all this doesnt matter unless you back the winner and/or you strongly fancy a longshot.

Also other bookies are offering double the odds on your first Summer Cup bet limited to R5000 if your horse wins.
