Kenilworth Racing

Speaking to those allegedly in the know, Kenilworth racing is in big trouble and was in this position before the fraudster did his reputational hari-kiri last week. Financial performances are poor and they are being kept afloat by Phumelela. Where does this leave the Stellenbosch mafia of racing and the big loans obtained from the Racing Trust?
Another question that must be asked is why are Western Cape Stakes being rewarded by double figure increases year on year and Gauteng gets a measley 3-4%? Having a look at the RA financials and the breakdown of stakes per region, it is clear that the WC is being propped up to come more in line with performing regions and that performance has played no part in this. This has become evident since the Phumelela bale out and to me it looks like they are throwing money down a pit with no chance of a return. So in essence, Gauteng owners are being screwed so that the boykies from Stellenbosch can have their way. This is something that should be discussed at the RA AGM but the sheep will probably have nothing to say besides how will we get our cash back from the shares deal.

Why should Cape racing be any different to any other business entity Mac?
If it cant perform, why would you continue pumping money into it at the expense of businesses that can. This is my entire point. Should I be an owner in Gauteng, I would be pissed

It needs a proposal. Are there too many horses? Why not 6 races per meeting? Why not 1 meeting per week? Why not a lesser-stake meeting mid-month? What does PE do so different that makes them more successful?

Doesnt WC Racing or those associated to it own a lovely piece of land ? The trainers always objected to selling it , now finally Phumelela will just come take it . Simple. Its been their aim for years , thats where the loans first started , now they will have them in the right position.
The Directors said it would never happen well guess what.

Warren I believe that the assets have been ringfenced and they cannot sell them. If they could have, this would have been long concluded.
