I love this: SABA complaining about lack of transformation??
When was the last time you encountered a Black Bookmaker?

their objections are not based on GC's lack of transformation

I must be missing something.

"Three interested parties - the SA Grooms’ Association (Saga), the SA Bookmakers’ Association (Saba) and Anil Maharaj, a former horse trainer - are expected to object to the renewal of Gold Circle’s operating licence. The trio want the board to monitor and enforce strict stipulations on transformation when it considers the renewal of Gold Circle’s licence, which expires at the end of the month."

Anyway, as I said initially, SABA talking about transformation is a joke.

Saba chief executive Sean Coleman said they had asked the board to investigate possible abuse by Gold Circle in the manner of operation.

“We made a submission requesting the board to consider the terms of section 91 of the KZN Gaming and Betting Act regarding Gold Circle’s dominant market position and possible abuse thereof,” said Coleman.

goes on to say....Section 91 stipulates that the board may grant an application only if it is satisfied that the racecourse operator has made adequate progress in facilitating the realisation of its objectives.

Thought it was a great straight forward interview, enjoyed fact based. Wish WC racing would do one , just needed the reason for tote turnowver down , Laff interupted . Otherwise spot on.

The reporter that penned the article never did any proper investigation and the editor exercised very little oversight, I for one will not support the Tribune.

What a load of shit anyway, SABA trying to win points for their other court case based on nothing and SAGA with no membership want free everything.

One of the biggest owners in SA will no doubt cut back his operation which will have a huge impact immediately on WC racing and ultimately on next Champions season in KZN. KZN need to focus on the owners they have in the game and keeping them interested in investing in new bloodstock.

Well that will have to be up to you and your team. This year I did not even get a catelogue for the sales from the TBA never mind anything else.

The catalogues are sent out by GC to members who request or by the TBA to clients on their mailing list.

In this day and age I'm sure you guys send out an online link to your complete email list - Going green and the like - makes way more sense than mailing half a tree every few months?
