My son in Glenvista had 37mm between 4pm and 6am so it is very possible.

Let's hope they don't find any 'wet patches' making the jocks cringe .... ;)

The soft conditions will probably cause one or two upsets on what originally looked a pretty straight-forward card; for one thing the going down the straight may now not favour the horses drawn on the outside (case in point the last on Tuesday evening) so the 3rd and 4th may not turn out so easy as the betting suggests ....

R1 & 2: Nice to see the babies - but with all due respect, not sure there is champ in the making among this lot

R3: Ace of Speed absolutely no value at odds-on imo - might well win of course, but yet to be tested in the soft and just more than a length between him and the moderate looking Little Magician, suggesting that the lightly raced Sharp Gitano (draw?) could give plenty of cheek with some improvement; Sweet Trial also looks moderate, but at least has shown some form in the soft, while debutante Burano is drawn on the outside fence and this race should at least give some indication as to where the better going is - absolute nutter inclusion could be Absolute Gem, who has no chance on his two runs to date, but I seem to remember that the dam was useful and blinkers may bring about big improvement

R4: Ensemble another one that to me looks a touch short in the betting - flopped in the soft last time, so fillies like Shiloh (returning from a 6 month absence, but first two runs were reasonable - and one of them was in the soft) and Summer Spin (supported when stumbling at the start on debut) could make her run, while Written (returning after more than a year off the track) and Shifting Shadows may also need consideration if one is trying to beat the fav in the P6

R5: Competitive maiden plate - on straight form I think Hint of Gold could be a big runner here, but both Bosphorus and Horseplay have run ok last time in the soft - not sure of either though over the 2000; also obvious chances to Corrido, Sky High and Mario Lanza - all 6 need to go in the P6 imo

R6: Looks as close to a two horse race as one would find; if there were to be an upset, either of the Erasmus runners could provide it - especially Cantata Mundi who seems to prefer soft going

R7: Very interesting contest; Sylvan on Fire ran to much higher last time, but imo this tough 1800 could be a stretch for her - in her favor is that she likes soft conditions; Cascapedia obviously not to be ignored, but strictly at the weights I think Patchit Up Baby will finish in front of her today - especially as PUB is also very effective in the soft; roughie for me is Pennington Sands, who is another who runs well in the soft

R8: Tough fillies and mares handicap; my pick is Iridium Silver who is at home over the trip and also has won in the soft; Fish River Canyon the obvious one, 1400 imo at the bottom of her range, but she may get a strong pace as fillies like Snow Path (will have to commit from a shocking draw), Iridium Silver and even perhaps Zulu Dawn should ensure no crawling up front; others to consider imo are Momo (tries 1400), Code Writer and Flowing Gown (both will need luck from those draws though)

R9: Competitive close to the P6; Arabian Beat is my first choice from Torre Del Oro; but most of the others hold some sort of chance

R10: I give up - Hampton Court probably the right one, but quite a few others in the queue should he fail - Dorman (likes the soft, but has an inside draw), Premier Show (won a good race on Tuesday evening), Last Battle (long overdue and those old legs prefer the soft) etc. etc. ....

Enjoy B)
