Does anyone have an update on the going - SA Horseracing says 9.3 mm in the last 24 hours - but that is time stamped at 15:11 on 29 Dec

Oscar - break a leg with Romano, I think it might give the de Kock hottie a go :cheer:

Schippers my best bet on this card. Last run against the boys in soft going. Should make amends today.

Season Greetings Clanners. I think this card is extremely difficult and most outcomes will be affected if the track comes up soft. I think purely on class and exposed form the Sage runner under muzi should give this lot a galloping lesson in the first. And if the track is not too soft, expect some place redemption from Diva Faustina today at 25/1 surely can get a decent 5/2 or 3/1 a drum.

Very difficult to make a stand with the current weather - cloudy and overcast at the moment, so I think chances are the going will at best be good to soft

R1: State Trooper has made a good debut in the soft, is drawn on the stand side (probably an advantage) and has Gavin returning - first choice for me from Coastal Torrent who comes of the break and is drawn more towards the inside; I might have not paid attention but Mr Tarry did not seem that confident about the debutante and he is drawn on the inside, while Over Easy is not finding any betting support; so for the quartets I'd be including Terroncito, Pius Oil and Bright Blessed Day

R2: Schipper overdue, but Count Kournikova (what a name for a filly  ) should provide stiff opposition; looks a two horse contest with Eleni back in 3rd

R3: Interesting start to the PA; Mutrib has found betting support and must be included, while the Azzie first timer is also in the betting, so also needs inclusion from pole position; Glenwood Drive drawn wide, but if both first timers fluff their lines,, could be worth including with Romano who ran well in the soft from a wide draw last time; Turf Patrol another first timer who could find the top 4

R4: Not a whole lot between the top 3 and all 3 have to go in the P6; for me I also think Amanika must go in; the next two would be Redberry Wood and Diva Faustina (who flopped badly in the soft last time)

R5: My first choice in an open-looking handicap is Chepardo - with the allowance is a winner without a penalty and soft conditions won't bother him; Shukamiza at best this track and trip and also likes the soft - not sure about the blinkers, but obvious chance; next best for me are Count Tassilo and Redberry Lane, while Jet Air has found support and must be considered as well; I think Unrehearsed has a lot to do here; if it does turn out soft, Front Rank can upset

R6: Spring Wonder courtesy of the allowance holds quite a few; imo she is however better on firmer ground and I really like both the Tarry sprinters here; Hewitson chose Magicality, but I think French Legend has a big chance at the weights as well, with Alileo although held by SW, should be thereabouts

R7: Originally I really fancied Rivarine, but I suspect track conditions won suit him, making this very competitive; I'd be including roughies like African Ruler and Splendid Garden

R8: Cold Cash won her maiden by more than 10 lengths in the soft, but this is also not easy; chances to Emerald Bay, Bright Bronte, Faraway Island and perhaps Dawn Flight and Hatfield Square

R9: If it is wet, I think Fortissima will walk this; if it is not that soft, perhaps Witchcraft can give her a go

Enjoy B)
